You must add the triggers after the content template in updatepanel.
<asp:scriptmanager id="sc1" runat="server">
<asp:updatepanel id="UpdatePanel1" runat="server">
<contenttemplate>
<asp:dropdownlist id="ddlAuthorID" autopostback="True" runat="server" onselectedindexchanged="ddlAuthorID_SelectedIndexChanged">
<triggers>
<asp:postbacktrigger controlid="ddlAuthorID">
God is always with you.

<triggers>
< asp:PostBackTrigger ControlID="ddTask" />

Hey,
Thanks man, it works, it actually pass the value out.
But I did some changes to it. I put the txtTask into UpdatePanel2 and add AsyncPostBack for ddTask in UpdatePanel2, so when SelectIndexChanged trigger for ddTask, it update txtTask in UpdatePanel2, now my GridView1 in UpdatePanel2 can refer to txtTask with no problem.

I have a database with several fields that are Boolean. I want to display a image for the field if the value is true in a DataList view. I code in VB.
The code is as follows:
<asp:DataList ID="ContractDL" runat="server" DataKeyField="ContactID" DataSourceID="ContactsDS"
Style="position: relative">
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:Label ID="Label2" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("ContactLast") %>'></asp:Label>
<img src="images/redcross.jpg" style="position: relative" Visible='<%# IIf(Eval("Emergency") = False, False, True) %>' />
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:DataList>
The code shows the image whether the value is true or false. Thanks for your help.

Why do you need IIF ? You've got a bool to start with, I'd be using Not (Eval("Emergency")).
If you make the visible property pass the data object to code behind, you can debug and see what's going wrong.

I have a dataset that looks like this:
date val1 val2 val3 val4 val5 val6
10/1/2007 1 45 5 6 100 2
10/2/2007 1 45 5 6 100 2
10/3/2007 1 45 5 6 100 2
I need to convert this dataset set to
categories(val1, val2, val3, val4, val5, val6)
series(10/1/12007;1;45;5;6;100;2)
series(10/2/2007;1;45;5;6;100;2)
series(10/2/2007;1;45;5;6;100;2)
etc.
category values are from checkboxlist on the page.
Can you please help me do this?
Best Regards,
mike

Just iterate through each row in table of dataset
while iterating you can format the way you want

You have published your site on a server that does not support ASP.NET.

Hi,
I have the following declaration for a web user control in my master.page:
<%@ Register TagPrefix="MyTagPrefix" TagName="MemberZone" Src="~/Includes/Content/Modules/Module_MemberZone.ascx" %>
And in my ASPX source if I have the following:
<!-- Member zone -->
<MyTagPrefix:MemberZone ID="wucMemberZone" runat="server" />
Now the trick comes in... I only want this web user to display on certain pages, that is, all pages in the user account. And you can only access the user account if you have logged on.
How do I do this? Am I doing it incorrectly?

Check whether the user is logged in or out and set the visibility of the control accordingly.

Hi Friend
I am little bit confused the way you implemented or i took it in wrong way
From my understanding you have a User Control ok
that user control is registered in Master Page.
No you are saying that you have to hide show this user control incertain pages ...
Now as you said in Member zone (What is meant by memeber zone ?)
you decalared that used that user control
If i supposed the member zone is part of Master page
just create public property that assign value to it
public bool Shoe MemberZone
{
set{this.wucMemberZone.Visible=value;}
}
Thanks and Regards

Is this code safe for password encryption in asp.net web forms?
string pass = FormsAuthentication.HashPasswordForStoringInConfigFile(TextBox1.Text, "md5");
Is there any differentiation between above code and below code?
UTF8Encoding encoder = new UTF8Encoding();
MD5 md5 = new MD5CryptoServiceProvider();
byte[] hashedPassword = md5.ComputeHash(encoder.GetBytes(TextBox1.Text));
StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder();
for (int i = 0; i < hashedPassword.Length; i++)
{
sb.Append(System.Convert.ToString(hashedPassword[i], 16).ToString());
}
string pass = sb.ToString();
Best Regards...

I bought a new computer ( with Windows XP Prof ) and I reinstalled Visual Studio 2005 ( Team edition for Software Developers ). However this time I also installed Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1 ( since it is claimed that they removed a lot of previous bugs through it) before installing AJAX 1.0.
The problem is that the “LoginView” control does not show up in the web page anymore.
What happened ? Did the “LoginView” control change with the addition of Service Pack 1 ?
If so, what parameters should I change to make it functional again ?
Here my LoginView code:

I have a custom asp.net calender control that does everything on the client through javascript, and when the user clicks save, the control serializes its state into a hidden field which is then parsed on the server and saved into a database.
The problem i have is how to know when the page is posting back, so the control can save its state in the hidden field. When i add a event handler through Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_beginRequest(MySaveMethod); the changes to the hidden field do not show up on the server, but if i first save the state through a custom click event (onclick="MySaveMethod") and then submit the page i do see the saved state.
It seems that when using the PageRequestManager the controls are already disposed or the postback is already in action and any changes i make is lost.
I want to be able to intercept a postback request, save the control state in the hidden field and retrieve it on the server.
Thanks in advanced

In my application i need to keep "tip of the day".i have a table with a list of tips. I need to display one of the tips from database table on to the web page and it has to change every day(increment).But Same tip is coming if i'm using "Application"
Please help to solve this problem.

Well it's quite obvious that you also need to store the index of the last row accessed. if it is global to your application, then You can use an application level variable, otherwise use a cookie for each user.
int x = (int)Application["tip_num"];
DataRow tip = ((Datatable)Application["tips"]).Rows[x];
