Does Ctrl+F5 work?
Did you try to create a new web-site? Does it work ok? Had you change something in sytem services? try to delete web.config and run you web site again. does windows appclication (windows.forms) debugging work?

Hi There
Ctrl+F5 not working at all but i notice something yesterday .
When i press wether F5 of ctrl+F5 a notify icon appears near the clock "ASP.NET Development Server" Port 3444 for example but in the web browser the address is http://localhost:3441/Default.aspx
do you notice the change in ports number and if i change it manually it works . I don't know what is the cause of this change . Everytime the different between ports number is exactly tow of three digits .
This problem is happening with any Visual Studio 2005 website i do but with VS 2008 everything works so fine .

I guess it was happend after installing VS 2008? I can advise nothnig except reinstall VS 2005.. Sorry I dont see other way to solve it..

Hello There
After days of searching i found the solution for this annoying problem.
I'm using ESET Total security and it has an option for IP Contnt Filtering i've just disable it and everything work so fine .

I have two site map: "common.sitemap, loginuser.sitemap", two master page:" common.master, loginuser.master",
in common.master, there is a Navigation control: TreeView
TreeView--- Sitemapdatasource---common.sitemap
in Loginuser.master, there is another Navigation control: TreeView
TreeView---sitemapdatasource---loginuser.sitemap
when user does not login, show common.master page
After user login , show loginuser.master page.
My problems :
how can I set Sitemapdatasource to bind different siteMap? Because I alway get two treeView with same sitemap.
If I use Membership Class to set user login function, How can set up redirect page ?

TreeView.Visible might do the trick
tvCommon.Visible = true;
tvUser.Visible = false;
after a succesful login:
tvCommon.Visible = false;
tvUser.Visible = true;

I have a question - how can I call a method from userControl if that method exist in the another userControl
example:
index.aspx contains leftcontrol.ascx and rightcontrol.ascx
leftcontol.ascx has SomeFunc(int val);
SomeFunc(int val)

dropDownListEx.Items.Clear();
OtherFunc();
}
how can I call SomeFunc(int val) from rightcontrol.ascx?

I tryed to do it.
I can found dropDowList control but I cant occur its SelectedIndexChangeMethod. and FillDt() is not that dropDownListControl method
I think may be I should move FillDt() into index.apsx.sc ad to try call it in way Page.FillDt() ?hm.. may should I try.

Where you able to declare the leftcontrol inside rightcontrol?
If so, you should be able to call any public method inside leftcontrol

Apparently, b/c it seems you have no idea what it is.
AJAX is a method of making calls asyncronously, it will not help you to check if a domain name is available, although if you have a code behind method that makes such a check, there's no reason why you can't use AJAX to call that method. The two are, however, totally unrelated to each other.

What do you have in your db?
Do you have a list of registered domains? or will you invoquing an external web service to see availability?
Whatever it is, just use an update panel in your page, put your textbox inside that update panel, capture the textchanged event of the textbox or add a button inside the updatepanel and capture the clickevent
In the method (textchanged or click) do what you got to do to check domain availability
Show the result to user using somethng like a label control or an alert

Hi!
I'm currently working on a project that need to generate my own user id.
But aspnetdb only provide GUID for users, it's unnecessary for me, together with application id.
I just wonder if there is a possible way to modify the schema of aspnet_Users?
If so, I won't need to code my own Membership provider for it's time consuming and I just want such a little change.

I don't think this is a good idea. The default SqlProvider uses GUIDs as the primary key for user accounts. You could try changing the schema and any associated stored procedures, but there will be stuff in the Framework classes that expects to interact with GUID values.
If you absolutely don't want to use GUIDs, you should write your own provider. However, is it such a big deal for UserIDs to be GUIDs? Writing your own provider would be quite a big undertaking, so it's probably better to make do with the default provider.

In my project, application id and guid is kind of redundant data. According to our design, user id must follow some rules and has its meaning.
But I know using default provider would be great, so I just want to know if there is a better choice for my request.

The ApplicationID property exists so that membership information for multiple systems can be stored in the same database. You only need to set this once, in your Membership provider configuration section in web.config.
Are you confusing the purpose of UserID and Username? UserID serves as an internal unique identifier for a user account and would not typically be exposed to the user. From a system point of view it just needs to be unique, so using a GUID is as good a choice as any other data type. The user interacts with the system using their Username. If you want a user's username to follow some set of rules then you could write code to facilitate this.

Nah, I didn't confuse GUID with UserName. I mean we create our own rule of UserId.
I found that using custom membership provider is the only way to this, so I guess I have to give up using our own rule.
Instead, I'll try to make GUID more compatible in our system. Thank you anyway.

i have a problem with my profile.
i defined for example in web.config this code:add name="name"
and in webpage.aspx :

now i want to write this code in webpage.aspx.cs:

but txtName isn't recognizable for my code ,it means it has this error:
The name 'txtName' does not exist in the current context
what do i do now?
