You should try typing the error into google, someone before you might have had this error before

I doubt it, that's a specific, detailed error, probably from a payment gateway. Most people would know better than to even post that on the web.

The exact string might not elicit a search result since the transaction numbers are dynamic. You may need to break down the string into distinct patterns and then try out on the search engine.

I am facing problem while making web request by WebClient.
I am making request to google map geocode apge to findout the longitude and latitude of particular address.
Here is my code to do that :
Dim QueryString As String
Dim responseText As String = ""
Dim WC As New Net.WebClient
Dim SR As IO.StreamReader
QueryString = "?q=" & getValidAddressString() & "&output=csv&key=" & ConfigurationManager.AppSettings("GeoCodeKey")
Dim redirectURL As String = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings("GeoCodeURL") & QueryString
SR = New IO.StreamReader(WC.OpenRead(redirectURL))
responseText = SR.ReadToEnd()
SR.Close()
processResponseText(responseText)
The strange thing is that for same address string, the code is working without any problem in one page. While the same code(have copy pasted) in another page is throwing the following error :
Illegal characters in path.

Did you try debugging to see what the illegal characters are, and where they come from ?

Hi,
it appears Bitmap img1 = new Bitmap("yourfilename") performs some build-in checks to see if the URL is valid or not. A 'rough' workaround would be to first download the image data using a HttpWebRequest, and get a stream to the data and use that to construct the Bitmap (I know, its stupid, but at least it works).
If you don't feel like writing lots of plumbing code yourself, you could consider using NFileStorage for the required overhead lined of code (created myself, see http://nfilestorage.codeplex.com/[^] to temporarily store the information, like so:
string filestorageName = @"c:\temp\googlechart";
FileStorageFacade.Create(filestorageName, CreateFileStorageBehaviour.IgnoreWhenExists);
string complexUrl = ... (your complex Google Chart URL);
FileStorageFacade.StoreHttpRequest(filestorageName, "A".ToNFileStorageDataIdentifier(), complexUrl, null, AddFileBehaviour.OverrideWhenAlreadyExists, "");
Bitmap img1 = new Bitmap(FileStorageFacade.GetStreamData(filestorageName, "A".ToNFileStorageDataIdentifier()));
Good luck!
Gert-Jan

Hello
In my own blog site, i wish to show writer's info (every writer has an aspx page that stored their info) by using a button-like control near the writer's name. Point is, how i can capture writer by his blog entry and open this writer's page. What's can be done, a querystring or something? What's this code? Thanks.
|
|
|
|
|
Yeah, I would expect you'd have a page which shows info for any writer, based on an id that is on the query string of the page that button redirects to, and that is the Id that is used to get that data from your DB

Hi,
i am usign formview control in my user control. when i use formview.UpdateItem(true), i got this error "Databinding methods such as Eval(), XPath(), and Bind() can only be used in the context of a databound control."
I have googled about it, i couldnt sort out the problem. Can anyone help me, please.
thanks,
deep.

|

It means you wrote code outside of a databound control ( such as a grid view ) that can only run inside such a control. Such as <%# Eval("columnname") %>

What do you mean by outside of control ? do u mean in another class?? this formview is in a usercontrol which i am using in another aspx page. How can i use it in another aspx page without getting error ?
thanks,
deep.

|
|
|

That is irrelevant. What is relevant is that you've used a data binding statement, in your ascx or aspx, and it's outside of a control that uses such statements.

They sell their CMS and claim they write it, but because of some translation/culture matters in their portal (and some other things) I'm dead sure they just using an open source CMS.

Well, if they sell it, and it's open source, they will be in jail soon, read the court documents to find out if you're right

thank you for replaying.
even if the original developer of the CMS does not allow selling it
my country did not accept copyright rules (and as you may know some software vendors restrict our access to their products).
however one of the portal customers asked me if i can develop some modules for them so I'm looking for the module developing help for that CMS.(portal seller will charge extra money for teaching module developing)
