strFilePath = HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath(strConfig);
now read it as XML file
What do you mean ? What is the point in reading as XML file for setting a image URL ?

This is not working.
I want to write the path only in aspx page and all other code i've written in code behind.
Do i need to register any namespace?

If your images are all going to be assigned via code behind and you have access to the control:
imgHeader.ImageUrl = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["ImgHeader"] + "image.jpg";
or, if your going to use a mixture of code behind and UI,
]]>' />
I think you might be duplicating your assignment of the src value, thus overwritting what is initially set loosing the path.

Well of course you have to refresh the browser how else is it going to check the image??
If you dont refresh the browser you are just viewing the page in the same state you left it

that is the problem with everyone.... browsers do show pages from their cache.... one need to make it sure that browser is set to check updates of webpages on every visit.... only the it brings newer versions of pages on every time

Hope you are not changing image path directly through query analyzer.
Browsers will cache the images depends on the URL. So if you can append some timestamp/random values to the end of URL, it won't be cached and when new image uploaded, it will show that immediately.
Assume initially your image path is something like /somedirectory/someimage.jpg
You can change that to /somedirectory/someimage.jpg?random=append some random value here avoid caching
Note : This will stop browser from caching the image. So if this page is visited frequently, browser has to load image each time.

How you do that is up to you. You need to certain the controls before the page load event for them to ave viewstate, but beyond that, your XML format and what you do with it, depends on your needs.

Hello friend!
i've faced a problem
i want to show an image in <asp:image> server control. the image is in bytes. i want to show the image in the image control directly,i.e.,
without using any .aspx file to convert the byte in image.
is there any way to achieve this?
pls help me.
thanks

The only way to do this, is to write an http handler that sends the bytes down in response to a URL to that handler being placed in an img control. Unless you only want to show an image for the whole page, then just response.BinaryWrite

There are articles on this site that cover this. If you type 'http handler image asp.net' into google, you find tons of info, more detailed than a forum reply.
Basically you create a http handler ( it's an ashx from memory ) and in it, you read an id from the URL to load the image from the DB and use Response.BinaryWrite to stream it. Then your img tags link to that handler, with the right image Id in the URL.
If you didn't understand what I just said, you are too new to be doing this task, take a step back, buy a book and work up to it.

A command button inside gridview refreshes the gridview immediately but a link button doesn't so how can i get the same functionlaty with link button if not posiible how can i add such command button by myself
|
|

Hrmm, maybe you can redefine your question so we actually understand what you want, cause... I don't

ok i gridview detailview we have autoganerate insert button edite buttonn and deletebutton right? so when we do any action from them the control gets gridview or detail view get refreshed immediately but not with link button i know linkbutton gives postback but how can i achieve so thing like command button from link button is the solution refreshing the whole page again.
|
|
|
|
|
hmm Im not sure I understand you but linkbutton does not have an onclick event so when you use linkbutton I think it re-loads the entire page so this isnt what you want.
|
|
|
|

link button have the onlclick event i am just wondering how the autgenerate insert button can refresh the gridview only and not by the link button that we add. the code that i have supplied should refresh the asp:label but it doesnt not whenn i am getting value to asp:lable from database is it that i have to reload the whole page
<asp:linkbutton id="lnkbtnRecharge" runat="server" text="UpdateBalance" visible="false" onclick="lnkbtnRecharge_Click">
