I want to pass the value of a dropdownlist to a formviewlabel.
1. I use the dropdown to "choose" a record number then view that record in a gridview.
2. I use a formview NewButtonClick event to add a detail record.
3. I then want pass that record number on to the detail (from the dropdownlist to the formviewlabel) so I don't have to enter it manually.
I have read and tried a lot of different things that related to passing values between pages and nothing has worked. I haven't been able to find much on passing values between controls. Any help would be aprecated.
Thanks.......

I need to swap the default SQLserver providers out for the MsAccess providers. I have the providers installed, but the only tutorial I've been able to find is on creating a new project not switching over an existing one.
You know, every time I tried to win a bar-bet about being able to count to 1000 using my fingers I always got punched out when I reached 4....

I am developing a Webpage (.aspx) that contains a multi-tab ajax panel. Now, each of the tab panels contain several grids, textboxes, etc. As I am developing this page the code behind file aspx.cs is starting to get very large. At this point should I continue to add everything to this single page and code behind file or do something else?
Thanks,
Steve

Did you use the application management console at any point?
It sounds like your webconfig is not set up to read your database and is trying to authenticate using the default aspnetdb database.
Check your App_Data folder to see if a database was automatically created.
If so then the the webconfig will need to be adjusted to point to your connection id.
I'd advise that you check that anyway even if there is no aspnetdb.

Please don't flood the forum with every trivial problem. We'd love to help you, but we'd like to feel you've done some work to get some sort of clue yourself, too.
The message means what it says. If you rename it, and you've already written the code, it won't rename it. No real web developer uses the drag and drop stuff to build UI.

switch to source html view
then rename the text box
then compile your project
then you will find some errors because of the old name of the textbox.

What do you want to do here, create an Excel on the server, and send it to the client ? You can control Excel through the Microsoft Tools for Office, or Excel can open a CSV

I would assume there's a property for that on the control. Do you have an ASP.NET book yet ? You should get one.
