Hello,
I'm not sure I understand your question, but at least I understand a part of it. For the " don't want to refresh the page, When i click on the Hyperlink" question, here is the answer :
The only way to not refresh the page on a hyperlink click is to call some client side action, such as javascript.
For the rest of your question, I guess you want to copy the current row to the fields you might have created upside from your gridview. To achieve that, you could use a javascript method (so there will be no page refresh) and copy the data into the fields. This could be a simple call on the hyperlink such as href="javascript:SomeMethodThatCopyDataToFields('data1','data2');"
Cheers

Difference between string and String classes in .net

Same ... string is the C# alias to System.String datatype of Dotnet

Try to write a better subject line... "ASP.NET" is totally useless as subject in the ASP.NET forum.
This isn't even an ASP.NET question, it's a programming language specific question that has absolutely nothing to do with web development. There is only one String class in the .NET framework, any alias for the class is specific for the programming language that you are using.
Despite everything, the person most likely to be fooling you next is yourself.

read the sticky on how to post questions, this is pure idiocy. Your subject is ASP.NET, which is both useless ( this is the ASP.NET forum, of COURSE these posts are about ASP.NET ) ,and your question has NOTHING to do with ASP.NET.

Hi all,
I m working out with an ecommerce project which will be in two language
a) English
b) Chinese
My problem is that both the versions will use same inventory.
Same product will be available in english version in english text and will be in chinese too.Chinese will display the product in chinese.
If someone buys one product from english then it would be decreased from chinese too.How to achieve this?
How to manage the inventory for both the languages?
Please guide badly needed.

I would have thought it's obvious. You have one inventory, but columns describing each item in both languages. If you're smart, you'll write it with joining tables so your design allows for adding more languages later.

Hi! I want to transfer a string from one page to another, I am trying to do like this:
I am putting the URL + the string what I need in a string called url, and then I am doing:
Response.Redirect(url);
then, I am transferred to the next page and I am trying to retrieve the data this way:
username = Request.Params["Username"]
and I got nothing. What is the best way to transfer a data, can someone post some example? I am using VS2005, thx ahead, Laziale

I think you're trying to used Request.QueryString, rather than Request.Params. I assume that the url ends with ?Username=laziale or something.

I think it should be
username=Request.QueryString("Username")

You just need to know the basic of Query String . How to pass Query string.
did you use "?" in the url?
Just have a llok on this Beginner's Article[^]

You can Do like this
Response.Redirect(url+"?userName="+MyName);
And on next page
userName=Request.QueryString["userName"]
|
|
|
|
|
You can have URL like this
"ReadMe.aspx?Id=hello&Mode=true"
and can read querystring as
string id=Request.Params["ID"];
string mode = Request.Params["Mode"];

hi........
we are working on tree view but the problem is tree view is expands every node but i want only one node expands every time, mean if already one node is expanded then we try to expand another then automatically other nodes are collapsed ..
Waiting for Response ..............

Not very clear on what you want. So if one node is expanded already and if you try to expand another node, then do you require all the remaining open nodes should be collapsed or it should remain open?
Success is the good fortune that comes from aspiration, desperation, perspiration and inspiration.

yes.....
all the remaining open nodes should be collapsed

You could achieve this easily by using the CollapseAll method from the tree view and then, on the clicked node you could do thisNode.Expanded = true, and recursively do this for all the parents he has using the Parent property.
For instance,
youTree.CollapseAll();
.. on the event
TreeNode currentNode = nodeFromEvent;
while(currentNode != null)
{
currentNode.Expanded = true;
currentNode = currentNode.Parent;
}
|
|
|
|
|
So capture the open event, and close all the other nodes in code.

I know this is not the right place to post this but i don't want to take chances.
I am working on a site where one has to give his personal details including contacts. The person will have to give work contact and a secondary contact. the trick is i have included a checkbox so that if the work contact is the same as the secondary it copies all the values in the work contact into the values of the secondary, displays them like the work contact and simultaneously disable the textboxes so that you can't change the values.
I am using ASP.Net ( of course,lol), and it doesn't work, though i have coded it in the .aspx page but it doesn't reflect when i run the application.
Please if anyone can help lemme know. thanks

Put the seconday contact in the UpdatePanel of Ajax and make the postback property of checkbox is true. Write code in codebehind for copying from work contact to secondary contct if the checkbox is checked.

Thanks, I'll do that but if you know anyone who can help with the javascript i'd much appreciate it cos of certain constraints.
I mean i would love to use the AJAX as an extension for the final project but i'm not allowed to. so,but i'll try it for my own good. Once again thanks.
