Hi
How to generate dynamic sub domains like in blogspot.com.
My requirement is, user will fill the form where he gives his desired Sub domain name. When user submits the form, system should generate sub domain like .Mysite.com
Any information / resource or design related docs/urls on this would do a great help.

I am working on a web site when i loading my web application the following error is acquiring i have written con in web.config file of web site and i am using OLEDB provider i am coding in vb.net
An exception of type 'System.InvalidOperationException' occurred in System.Data.dll but was not handled in user code
Additional information: The ConnectionString property has not been initialized.
Kindly tell me what should i do?

Yes, It seems the Issue is with your connection string. Please verify the connection string name, database Server Name, and User id and password.

I have checked it again every thing is alright i also connected with an other server but still is same problem.
Dim con As New OleDb.OleDbConnection
con.ConnectionString = " DataSource = ABC; InitialCatalog = XYZ; Username = sa; Password = sa"
This is the line of code where error is acquiring.

It should look like
con.ConnectionString="Data Source=Database_Server_Name/IP;Initial Catalog=DataBase_Name;Integrated Security=True;User ID=UserID;Password=Password;" ;

Does this error happen locally, or just when deployed ? Perhaps it's that the deployed site can't see the database ?

yes when i run the code and try to debug the connection to verify connection on form load event then error is acquiring.
|
|

OK - the first thing to do in this case, is to debug the code and work out what line blows up. The next, is to post the line and your connection string, etc., if you can't work out the issue.

I am building a data access layer based on Microsoft's tutorial located at:

According to the article you can build a TableAdpter with a query that references 2 tables by using a sub-select rather than a join. For example, CategoryID and CategoryName. Quoted from the article:
"... the auto-generated methods for inserting, updating, and deleting are not affected by subqueries in the SELECT clause. "
My problem is that when I try to use my tableadapter with the FormView for editing, I get the 'ol "ObjectDataSource 'ObjectDataSource1' could not find a non-generic method 'Update' that has parameters: ..." message. I can use my TableAdper with the gridView successfully, but it doesn't work with the FormView.
I've created simple tableadapters that reference only one table and it works just fine with FormView.
Can someone shed some light on this for me ?  I've wasted 2 days trying to get something so simpe to work.

Hi Guys,
I have a small requirement where by i need to find out where in a mail did the user clicked. I am adding some small javascript to find out the same and send the result back over a XMLHttp request.
Things works fine with the rendered HTMl in browser however if i send this content to a mail address it looks like the providers take out the scripts. Thus the javascript does's't fire.
Could you advice me if there is a woraround for this.

Yep - invent a world with no malicious code, where people don't get spammed every day with emails trying to steal their banking passwords. Then mail providers won't assume you're sending something that they want to remove.
