Hi all,
I don`t know whether it`s the right forum to ask this question, i had some problems using the crystal reports.
Well the first problem is the crystal report that comes bundled with VS 2005 doesn`t support newline characters set through code behind. So to solve the issue you have to add the stored proc in the field explorer and drag in the field to report and tick the check box in field format to "can grow".
But then the proc has an input parameter which it receives from the querystring. I tried doing
rpt.SetParameterValue("@param1", Request("Trans_no").ToString)
but it always asks for this parameter before loading the report. Instead it should take it from the query string.
Does any one know how do i achieve this...
|
|
|
|
|
Solution found...
Just use in the foll code in your page load event
<br />
Dim paramField As New ParameterField()<br />
Dim paramFields As New ParameterFields()<br />
Dim paramDiscreteValue As New ParameterDiscreteValue()<br />
paramField.Name = "@param1"<br />
paramDiscreteValue.Value = Request("Trans_no").ToString<br />
paramField.CurrentValues.Add(paramDiscreteValue)<br />
paramFields.Add(paramField)<br />
CrystalReportViewer1.ParameterFieldInfo = paramFields<br />

You can use an online regular expression generator to validate your fields. This one is explains how to construct one-

Hi,
I have a problem with binding data to dropdownlist from database in alphabetical order.
My database contains some fields like All,Air,Airline,Books,Cars etc.
There are 2 dropdown lists one dropdown contains A to Z list like A,B,C,D..Z.
2nd list contains above items like All,Air,Books.Now I want that when I select A from A-Z list it will display A items in alphabetical order and the Top item should be "All" after that remaining items.But if I display items in alphabetical order All is displaying like Air,Airline,All.Can anybody help me to resolve the problem.
Thanks in advance

So you can't sort alphabetically, you have to provide your data sorted in the order you want.

U have to use "Order by" clasue. Each and every change event of your drop down list, you have to change your query to bind data.....

Thanks for your response.
I already used order by clause to display in alphabetical order.Then it looks like Air,Airline,All.When we select alphabets A-Z i want to display first All and after that remaining items.Eg if i select A it will display All,Air,Airline if i select B it will display All,Books,Bank etc.All should be at top position.

I think that it is not possible if 'All' is in your database. I think that even you cant use "union all" also. Bind data by excluding 'All' and add it. Before adding add 'All' in to your drop down list directly as first index. I think it is possible. Try it.

Well, your code really sucks. You should not hard code session keys, you also should never check the session without first making sure the value is not null.
You should step through in the debugger to try to work out if you are setting the session value, and why it's null on the other end.
you should also not write code that returns the correct password, that's not secure.

Hi All,
I want to write in C#, a SOAP client over an SSL connection to a server which supports SOAP requests and gives back SOAP responses.
The way i am currently doing it is
1) I use a open source .NET SSL library to connect to the server.
2) I manually create SOAP requests(in the form of strings stored as resource and in XML files) and send these request over the connection created in 1.
3) I get back the response over the SSL connection and then parse it to get the response.
Now my question is, Can i a use .NET framework class library which provides all these features, so that i can just create a SOAP web service client(which would work over SSL) and then use these .NET web service classes to actually get my work done.
Any help or direction would be really appreciated.

Why not just create a webservice, which will create SOAP for you ?

Try explaining yourself in your post, not in your header. As far as I can see, you have written *no* code to do what you want. I see no database code here. So, perhaps if you have no idea where to start, you should buy a book, work through it, try to write some code, and ask us if you get stuck AFTER trying to do your own work ?

Hi,
In my master page (Asp.Net 2.0), I've given my img. It is showing well at design time but not at run time. In my solution, I put common.master in "Master Page" folder. All of my images in "Images" folder.
<body>
<div id = "div1" runat ="server" >
<table width=100% height=4 bgcolor=eeeeee>
<tr valign ="middle">
<img src ="../Images/Currency2.jpg" border="0" />
<%--<asp:Image runat="server" ImageUrl ="~/Images/Currency2.jpg" BorderStyle = "None" />--%>
<I><B> Bullet </B></I></tr>
</table>
</div>
Anybody can help me. Thanks in adv.

Try specifying an absolute path.

It is working well at design time. I select the image by using "Pick Url" only. I'm not typing the path by myself directly.
Balasubramanian K.

Well, perhaps you need to start being a programmer, and type in some values. The relative path is obviously killing you, either the images are in a different place on the live server, or something else is messing it up.
