The first thing you should do is slap whoever gave you such ridiculous requirements.
What could possibly be the reason to not rebind from the database? There is only going to be one user at any time ever or they don't care about showing the current values from the database.
The only way I see possible to meet these requirements is to use an ajax call to post the changed data and avoid the postback that would require the listview to be rebound.

Enable ViewState on the listbox... When the page postback dont do anything. When you say requirement you mean school homework or this is really a project?

If you want help, ask in the correct forum. This question is not related to ASP.NET

You should change the value type first: datatable, array or other types.
Then bind the value with the gridview.

Hi,
I am showing a list of files for a user in an i frame. I getting all the files from the user's folder and the i use the <a href> tag like
<a href="http://localhost/files/filename.txt">filename.txt</a>. When i click on the link, i am able to see the file contents in the iframe. I want to show the file dialog option for the user to open or save the file. The file could be of any extension. How should i go about it?. I want to be in the same .aspx page. Can someone pls help me out?
Thanks,
Raja.

Why are you storing the filenames in a txt file in the first place ? Where does this file come from ? how does it get there ?
The way to save a file, is to serve it to the browser with the right content type, so the browser shows a file save dialog. The way to show a file open dialog, is with a file input control, which I assume is how the users files get to the server in the first place.

Are you talking about Gridview paging or what ? If you want to gridview paging you just need to set AllowPaging =true and need to handle the event.

Hi,
You can create a footer pagination by yourself, and bind the gridview row number to it.
The footer pagination can be whatever you like.

Hi all,
Im getting the error while converting xml to a dataset. Please help me.
Im converting xml file to dataset using the following code.
TextWriter twHistory = new StreamWriter(location + ".xml"); twHistory.WriteLine(XMLdoc); twHistory.Close(); DataSet dsHistoryXml = new DataSet(); dsHistoryXml.ReadXml(location + ".xml");
Cannot add a column named 'PerUser': a nested table with the same name already belongs to this DataTable.

Then don't!! You shouldn't be posting the same question over and over again, it won't get you any different answers, just ignored.

So why do it; respond sensibly to the post where people have tried to help you.
For a start your line of code and your error message have no correlation whatever. Look at your code and find where the error message is coming from to try and work out what is wrong.

I'm sorry, but the issue appears to be that you are dumb as toast.
The error means what it says. What have you done to try to fix it ? You sat at your desk for a day crying because you are incapable of even trying to do your job, then you just posted it again, right ?
The conversion is failing because you have a column with the same name as a nested table ( which is what the message says ). You could find and rename the table, or you could find and rename the column. If you post again, please report the things you have done to try to do your own job, instead of just waiting for someone to do it for you.

So quiting is an answer? Christian can be harsh sometimes because lots of people post requests for code for an entire project. CodeProject is not an outsourcing site, people help others for free. I can see you are different and as I said Christian was harsh... again, the error was clear but I understand that language is a barrior as english is not my first language too.
