Thank you replying. It is working fine on local host. When I uploaded it to the server, It worked fine for a day. Next day I got this error. Then after googling I removed all the xml tags () and again uploaded it to the server. It worked fine. Then after some time it again showed the error.

Something is adding that <script> block to your page, so asp.net then throws an error because there is something outside an <asp:Content> block - which is not allowed.
The first thing I would do is check IIS to make sure that there is nothing set to automatically include the block.

Thanks for the replies. I got the solution. Actually I have to move the script tag inside a <asp:Content> tag.

I have a slide show extender Ajax control & the images in that are fetched from the database. The slide show extender allows only to bind the image name & some caption related to that(fetched from database). And my need is when i click a image in that slide show it should open a new window with the corresponding URL which is also to be fetched from database. I have created this Ajax control in Asp.net with C#. Kindly help me in making this possible.
Thanks in advance.

You just need to add the link to the control. The source code for the controls is available from Microsoft, so look at how they did what they have already, and add what you need.

Like I said, it doesn't exist, you will need to write it. That's what programmers do, they write stuff.

Hi,
We have an ASP.NET application and using a ListView to display some user records from Database.
Once we populate the ListView from database the user can edit few/more records of it.
Now our requirement is that once the user edits a record we need post those changes to database but should not rebind the ListView (from database). We also should not use Cashe or Session object to store the data of ListView.
Do you think that it is possible? If so would you please guide / refer a code sample on this?
Thanks and Regards.

The first thing you should do is slap whoever gave you such ridiculous requirements.
What could possibly be the reason to not rebind from the database? There is only going to be one user at any time ever or they don't care about showing the current values from the database.
The only way I see possible to meet these requirements is to use an ajax call to post the changed data and avoid the postback that would require the listview to be rebound.

Enable ViewState on the listbox... When the page postback dont do anything. When you say requirement you mean school homework or this is really a project?

If you want help, ask in the correct forum. This question is not related to ASP.NET

You should change the value type first: datatable, array or other types.
Then bind the value with the gridview.

Hi,
I am showing a list of files for a user in an i frame. I getting all the files from the user's folder and the i use the <a href> tag like
<a href="http://localhost/files/filename.txt">filename.txt</a>. When i click on the link, i am able to see the file contents in the iframe. I want to show the file dialog option for the user to open or save the file. The file could be of any extension. How should i go about it?. I want to be in the same .aspx page. Can someone pls help me out?
Thanks,
Raja.

Why are you storing the filenames in a txt file in the first place ? Where does this file come from ? how does it get there ?
The way to save a file, is to serve it to the browser with the right content type, so the browser shows a file save dialog. The way to show a file open dialog, is with a file input control, which I assume is how the users files get to the server in the first place.
