Hi bros,
I want to close the calling page itself.Not the pop up page. just like "this.close()" in windows applications.I just used only Close() in one java script method.and the pop up coming is not a new page , its like a messagebox.
With warm regards.

Cannot do much about it. It is the browser's property. Earlier you could have done this by setting window.opener and then closing the window. But now, you cannot. Check http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/aa740486.aspx link. It says the same.

How Can I evaluate an axpression in string ?
for example :
string x = "(6+9)/5-9";
string y = "Ln(10)+cos(30)-55";
How Can I evaluate that in visual studio ?
Is there a FREE parser that does these operations ?
I'm using vb 6

How this question is related to ASP.Net?

|

You need to study Infix to Postfix to evaluate this in C#...
Well Its surely not related to ASP.NET.

can we insert only date (mm/dd/yyyy) using smalldatetime(mm/dd/yyyy 00:00:00) as datatype.. into sql table
as i used this to select..
select (CONVERT(CHAR(10), date, 101)) as date
|
|
|
|

You can if you want, but it looks to me like you're trying to store it as a string instead of a date. That would be stupid.

i tried this
insert into news(date) values (CONVERT(char(10), 2001-01-01, 101))
but still it is 2001-01-01 00:00:00

A datetime has a time component. IF you want to work only with dates, just ignore the time part, and set it to 0 for all values.

If you are using sql server 2008 then there is a data type date for this purpose. you can use that.

It's just the same; like I told you yesterday, store your dates as date values not as strings. Then, when you want to display them or print them you can format them any way you like, in any order, with or without the time.

i stored in date itself but i want seperate into three dropdownlists
ddl1(mm) ddl2(dd) ddl3(yyyy)
string final = Session["startdate"].ToString();
DateTime dt;
dt = Convert.ToDateTime(final);
final = dt.Day + "/" + dt.Minute + "/" + dt.Year;
TextBox1.Text = final;
DropDownList5.SelectedItem.Text = dt.Day.ToString();
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
what im i doing wrong????

Well your main problem suggests that either DropDownList5 or its SelectedItem property do not have a valid reference.
Also you have dt.Minute where you want the month.
Lastly, you still seem to be wasting processing on converting DateTime values to and from String values when it is not necessary. I would be tempted to rewrite the above (assuming Session["startdate"] returns a DateTime value) :
DateTime dt = Session["startdate"];
TextBox1.Text = dt.ToString("dd/MM/yy");
DropDownList5.SelectedItem.Text = dt.Day.ToString();

Here comes another one with that 'URGENT'.
The error is very well describing itself, it is unable to load some crystal report assembly.
Are you using crystal reports?
1. If Yes, then see why these are not loading.
2. If No, then remove that assembly section from Web.Config.

It's urgent', yet you can't read the error, think about what it may mean, google it, etc ?

I have to use the logical and OR for one of my logic in my form. Just thinking of the following, want to confirm.
When I use 'select 0 & 1' it gives 0 and when I user 'select 0 | 1' it gives 1. From this, I think, the '&' gives the lowest value and '|' gives the highest value. Is this correct? Is there any other differences? please help.

Have a look at these links:
1) Logical Conjunction (AND)[^]
2) Logical Disjunction (OR)[^]
The Truth tables and Ven diagrams from the above articles will help you understand these operators.
I hope this helps.

This has nothing to do with ASP.NET, but you have NO idea what and and or do, you are totally lost. I think it's cool that you're experimenting, but you should read some resources instead of guessing, or you will just get in trouble.
They actually do what they say. 1 is true and 0 is false. Only one needs to be true in an OR, both need to be true in an AND.
