1) Section or group name 'system.web.extensions' is already defined. Updates to this may only occur at the configuration level where it is defined
Please check this in your webconfig , you should have gotten this error a long time ago, before you even try to publish your Project. remove one entry of that line in the web config.
2)C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\WebDeployment\v9.0\Microsoft.WebDeployment.targets(639,7): error MSB4018: The "ToggleDebugCompilation" task failed unexpectedly.
Did you run this Web Deployment project from Visual Studio on server or use MSbuild to run this Web Deployment project file? If it is built in Visual Studio, please set "MSBuild project build output verbosity" option from (Tools menu, click Options, and then select the Projects and Solutions folder and click Build and Run) to get detailed build steps.
In this case, please make sure the process identity that your Web Deployment project is running under has appropriate permission, especially the location where the Output will be.

i presume when you say at the bottom you mean the status bar of your page. Ok if you want to change the status bar when you are printing , add an empty string to the status bar or display a message if that does not bother you .
window.status='...';

There are option given to the client while he prints the page to omit those I think.
By default it comes with all those in IE.

All -
I am trying to create a simple app that will capture emails and when my users try to remove their email from the db they get an error. Here is my ASP code:
<asp:AccessDataSource ID="AccessDataSource1" runat="server"
DataFile="~/App_Data/mail.mdb"
DeleteCommand="DELETE FROM [Email] WHERE (([Email] = ?) OR ([Email] IS NULL AND ? IS NULL))"
InsertCommand="INSERT INTO [Email] ([Email]) VALUES (?)"
OldValuesParameterFormatString="original_{0}"
SelectCommand="SELECT [Email] FROM [Email]">
<DeleteParameters>
<asp:ControlParameter ControlID="txtEmail" Name="original_Email"
PropertyName="Text" Type="String" />
</DeleteParameters>
<InsertParameters>
<asp:Parameter Name="Email" Type="String" />
</InsertParameters>
</asp:AccessDataSource>
Here is the code below:
protected void btnSubscribe_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
AccessDataSource1.InsertParameters["Email"].DefaultValue = txtEmail.Text;
try
{
AccessDataSource1.Insert();
txtEmail.Text = "";
lblError.Text = "Email sucessfully added";
}
catch
{
lblError.Text = "Email already exists";
}
}
protected void btnUnSub_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
AccessDataSource1.DeleteParameters["Email"].DefaultValue = txtEmail.Text;
try
{
AccessDataSource1.Delete();
txtEmail.Text = "";
lblError.Text = "Email has been removed";
}
catch
{
lblError.Text = "Email doesn't exist";
}
}
Thanks for all your help

When you post in CodepProject use the Pre tags, there is a Tool bar for you. This will make us keen to help you. Formating in important.
Your Delete is not Correct
DELETE FROM [Email] WHERE (([Email] = ?) OR ([Email] IS NULL AND ? IS NULL))
the Syntax Supposed to be
DELETE TABLENAME WHERE [Email] = ? OR [Email] IS NULL

This looks like a collection of unrelated buzzwords to me. mlm IS multi level marketing. What does it have to do with ASP.NET ?

Hi all,
I use to add some .swf files to my HTML pages in Macromedia Dreamweaver through Insert > Media > Flash, also possible with Microsoft FrontPage 2003.
How do I go about this in my .aspx pages. Also, I want some of the animation to be a link to a particular page.
Help me out.

Just a note. When asking a question. Try to be more specific. There are many different ways you could do what you are asking. A lot of perople here take offense at open questions and will be sharp with their replies.
Anyway.......
If you didn't want to use Personalization it would be pretty easy to do this with cookies.
First set up a design using master pages and css.
Then create a base class for your child pages to inherit from. This should inherit from system.web.ui.page.
This class should have the following code:
In VB:
Protected Overrides Sub OnPreInit(ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
'load the theme
Page.Theme = "Set your theme here."
MyBase.OnPreInit(e)
End Sub
In C#:
protected override void OnPreInit(System.EventArgs e)
{
Page.Theme = "Set your theme here.";
base.OnPreInit(e);
}
That will tell your page to use whatever theme you set.
From then you could write a class that checks for a cookie whenever the page loads to see what theme the user wants. If it can't find one then it should set a default theme. That same class would then set a cookie for the user whenever they choose a theme.
You'll need to set up something to allow the user to choose the theme from the ones you have available.
A dropdownlist that is bound to the names of the css files in you App_Themes directory would do it. Stick that on your masterpage and the user will then be able to choose at will.
If you set the cookie to expire far enough in the future, then the user will not have to change the theme again until their browser cookies are cleared.
That should hopefully get you started.

I'm stumpt on this one. I have a Visual Studio 2005 web site project that we've successfully published for well over a year now. Unfortunately yesterday it started to fail with the message:
------ Build started: Project: C:\...\WebSite\, Configuration: Debug .NET ------
Pre-compiling Web Site
Building directory '/App_GlobalResources/'.
Building directory '/App_WebReferences/'.
Building directory '/App_Code/CSCode/'.
Building directory '/App_Code/VBCode/'.
Building directory '/App_Code/'.: Publication (web): Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Pre-compilation Complete
------ Skipped Publish: Project C:\...\WebSite\, Configuration: Debug .NET ------
I've had a look around and I couldn't find any solution to this. Some say it was intermittent and it goes away after a while, but I've had umpteen failed publish operations since yesterday and see no evidence that it will just go away on its own.
Any ideas of what I can look in to?

Well, one would think. That's what I cannot figure out. The bit that it is failing has had zero changes. There have been no changes to the AppCode folder. There have been changes elsewhere, but it builds and debugs fine, but if I try and publish it then it doesn't work.
