i am new prog in .net.
How to count online user in asp 2.0...
plz give me solution....

Increment the Global Static variable / database field during Session Start and Decrement during Session End.

Or you may use Login / Logout as well(but there is no surety of logout).

Yes.. You can go for Session_start in global.asax to evaluate the session start time.

but Rather than this, It is more logical to log the session start when actual login process occurs. Wink | ;)

hi all,

i have created a site, in which i used marquee to roll my text from
left to right. it is working fine in the firefox.
but it is not at all coming in IE.
below is my code

<marquee behavior="scroll" direction="left" scrollamount="3" <font face="Andalus" size="5" color="Cyan">
This is my text </font></marquee>

Please help me what mistake i did.

Hello Hema you try this code.It will work properly.....

<marquee direction="left" scrollamount="2" scrolldelay="0" style="font-size: 10pt; height: 190px;">

write the text here

I think you r mistaken in your code you forget to close your marquee starting tag close with '>' tag..........

You have not closed the opening marquee tag

try this -

its strange but it also works in IE 8 and mozilla .
only the color in Ie is not set ..

Hi Abhishek,

Thanks for the reply. i am looking for the chat application same like Gmail chat, the chat application which you send is the common chat programms. There is no privacy in this chat application.

Make it private.

The concept is, you just update the sever with some specific id which is private to you and your partner.

Once you get the response from the other end, call the server to update your data.

If you can create group chat, making this private is no big deal.

Hello

I have created a website in HTML using CSS.it is properly running in IE8 but its not properly running in IE6.whole design is disturbed in IE6.plz help me to come out this problem.

IE8 is similar to FireFox. I think you need to fix your css properly to display it properly in IE6.

There are lots of things that you need to keep track.
So check on every design failure, and try to fix them one by one.

If you are getting a specific problem and want to fix it, you can tell us.

Yes . I know ...

There are lots of things that are not supported in IE6 and works fine in IE7 or IE 8...

Just for example:

Min-height, max-height css doesnt work in IE6 but works in most of the other browsers.

So check every css that you have used and write an equivalent for IE6.
