You look like too lazy to even Google it out. I am sure there would be no point asking what have you tried till now.
Go here:
http://www.google.com
http://www.codeproject.com
Use keywords like - chat, messenger, etc. You will get lots of articles.

(sigh) People these days are used to spoonfeeding. Help yourself buddy. research first on what you want to do and then based on your researches, ask questions. It would be an interesting discussion if it was done that way.

Following is my code for login:
void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) {
string appURL = "http://www.mysite.com/Login.aspx";
string strPostData = String.Format("login={0}&password={1}",
"myloginname", "mypassword");
// Setup the http request.
HttpWebRequest wrWebRequest = WebRequest.Create(appURL) as
HttpWebRequest;
wrWebRequest.Method = "POST";
wrWebRequest.ContentLength = strPostData.Length;
wrWebRequest.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded";
wrWebRequest.CookieContainer = new CookieContainer();
// Post to the login form.
StreamWriter swRequestWriter = new
StreamWriter(wrWebRequest.GetRequestStream());
swRequestWriter.Write(strPostData);
swRequestWriter.Close();
// Get the response.
HttpWebResponse hwrWebResponse =
(HttpWebResponse)wrWebRequest.GetResponse();
// Have some cookies.
CookieCollection ccCookies = hwrWebResponse.Cookies;
// Read the response
StreamReader srResponseReader = new
StreamReader(hwrWebResponse.GetResponseStream());
string strResponseData = srResponseReader.ReadToEnd();
srResponseReader.Close();
// Display the response.
Response.Write(strResponseData);
}
It logs me in successfully but when I click on any link, it logs out.
Please let me know what's going wrong.

From Your code it looks like you are login from other side,
What you need to do is when you login successfully you need to set session values,
And when you go to other page check this value so you will not log out.
hint is when you sent login successfully response from other site, send some values like 'userid',
and set this id session value.

Hi
I am using AJAX TabContainer control with following settings. When I change a tab the postback happens and whole page refreshes. Because AutoPostBack="true"> . To AJAxify the behavior, I added UpdatePanel around it but still the page is refreshing. The control need to go to server because user controls contains some grids which need to be populated.
<br />
<asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server"></asp:ScriptManager><br />
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="upTLTop" runat="server" UpdateMode="Conditional"><br />
<ContentTemplate><br />
<br />
<AjaxCT:TabContainer ID="tcProducts" runat="server" ActiveTabIndex="0" Style="height: 100%;<br />
vertical-align: top; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" OnActiveTabChanged="Products_OnActiveTabChanged" AutoPostBack="true"><br />
<AjaxCT:TabPanel runat="server" HeaderText="MBS" ID="pnlMBS"><br />
<ContentTemplate><br />
<uc1:ucA ID="ucA1" runat="server" /><br />
</ContentTemplate><br />
</AjaxCT:TabPanel><br />
<AjaxCT:TabPanel runat="server" HeaderText="ABS" ID="TabPanel1"><br />
<ContentTemplate><br />
<uc2:ucB ID="ucB1" runat="server" /><br />
</ContentTemplate><br />
</AjaxCT:TabPanel><br />
</AjaxCT:TabContainer><br />
</ContentTemplate><br />
</asp:UpdatePanel><br />
<br />
<br />
How can I disable the page refresh and at the same time server side operation happens in this case?
Please advise. Thanks
AJ

Hi
I have two user controls on one aspx page. UC1 has a grid which contains a link button column which user clicks. Based on the value of clicked cell, I need to show some data into UC2.
1. How do I pass data from UC1 to UC2?
2. How do I invoke a function of UC2 from UC1?
Please advise. Thanks

You can make use of Session or Delegates here.
mittalpa wrote: 2. How do I invoke a function of UC2 from UC1?
If it is a method needed by both the user controls, place it in a separate class and have it public/internal. Then call it from both the user controls.

From what I understand when you create an HttpModule you can register only the events you want the HttpModule to handle.
However, aren't HttpModules designed to run for all pages and you have to register it in Web.config?
If I wanted to create a service (class) that would use event chaining on the PreRender/Render event for a *given page* what would be the recommended design for this?
I'm guessing just a simple class that is bound by a delegate for the PreRender/Render event right? Are there any recommended base classes/interfaces I should inherit for this design?

Hi - I'm developing an ASP.net component that I need to implement through event chaining. For example:
this.Render += MyComponent.Render([Request])
Can someone show me how I would implement this?
|
|
|
|
|
|
OK - So I can do this in MyPage.aspx
this.PreRender += new EventHandler(_MyPage_PreRender);
But what I'd like to do is chain the event handler to a different class.
For example:
this.PreRender += MyComponent.PreRender
or even better:
this.PreRender += MyComponent.MyCustomMethod
So can I chain directly to a method in another class? If so then will you please provide some code to show me how to do this?

Hi
I need some help in developing one application based on forums in asp.net. I saw one application based on forums in code project website. This is the same application which I am looking for. For example this is the link which has the forum application.
http://www.codeproject.com/Forums/12076/ASP-NET.aspx
I just do not know how to implement this application. I would appreciate if anybody can give me sample application or any guidance how to do this application...
Thank you....

"Some help" and "give me sample application" are very different things. If you have absolutely no idea how to even start without someone handing you code, then you shouldn't try to develop this yourself. There are plenty of forums apps you could download.

Thank you very much for your guidance. But, Actually I developing a website. I need to implement this forum application in that website. If download forum app from internet, Is this possible to put in my website.
If it is possible, can you give me any link to download that application...

Hi I have created a method within a webservice to return object in JSON.
public class Car : System.Web.Services.WebService
{
[WebMethod]
[ScriptMethod(ResponseFormat = ResponseFormat.Json)]
public string GetCarSpecs(string CarID)
{
Guid photoid;
Guid thisCarID;
thisCarID= new Guid(CarID);
Car car = new Car(thisCarID);
string output = "{id:" + thisCarID.ToString() + " " + "name:" + car.name + " " + "details:" + car.details+ " " + "photoid:" + (Guid)car.photoid+ " " + "}";
return new JavaScriptSerializer().Serialize(output);
}
}
But I am very much in doubt i have got this wrong as I am hardcoding the JSON format which shouldn't be the case.
What am I doing wrong here and how can i fix it ?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You
Andyyy
