Hello
I hope you can help med with the following.
I have made an ArrayList of Worker (Worker is a class in my BLL) objects, which I have applied as the datasource for a ListBox.
Now I would like to retreive the worker objects from the ListBox, but unfortnately the only thing I can get a hold of, is a collection of ListItems (ListBox.Items). Is there a way for me to cast these ListItems, or have I misunderstood the way Databound controls are assocated with their Datasources.

1) You can use DataSource, DataTextField, DatavalueField to bind your datasource to the dropdownlist.
2) You can catch the Item Command event in the datagrid to get the event fired in the dropdownlist.
I guess the information is not sufficient to understand your problem. If you need more information, be specific and more clear.
Cheers,

In my ASP.NET.net site ,I sometimes(but not always) get this error :
Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.
I think its sql server error . Someone tell me how I can solve this problem.
I need urgent help .

Are you getting time out while executing the database query? If so, you need to set the SQLCommand.CommandTimeout property.
If not, You can change timeout="infinite" in processmodel node of the machine.config.
Hope this helps. Get back if not.

You may want to check out the Stored Procedure / View / SQL Query you are calling. These errors usually occur during long processes on the database server. Run a profiler to see where the bottlenecks are in your process.

It sounds like IE doesn't display TIFF, which gels with what I thought was the case. Can't you convert it to JPEG in memory and then write it as a JPEG ?

OK, so I am using third party controls (telerik 2006 Q2), and I have already left a mail with the vendor, but I thought I'd try and find out more so long, so here goes:
I have a single page web (Home.aspx) application that uses ajax to choose which user control to display within that page, e.g. customer details, fax, or brief etc. This is part of the navigation architecture of the application.
Each user control is designed specifically for the entity it edits/displays, but these all contain in idential block of javascript that does some 'plumbing' work when the control is loaded/updated. My problem is that after loading Home.aspx, and causing e.g. a Brief document to be loaded into its site in the Home DOM in the browser, all the controls and content for the Brief are present, but the entire script block is missing.
I am interested to know if this 'dissapraring script' issue is confined to my third party controls, or if it also occurs outside of their sphere of influence.

If you have the source code for the control, check for RegisterStartUpScript or RegisterClientScript.

Hi all,
I am developing a CMS using asp.net 2.0 and c# 2.0.
I have a html template file...
with the following text in the file.
{=BeginCatRecords=}<TABLE><TR><TD colspan='2'>Links comes here</TD></TR></TABLE>{=EndCatRecords=}
I am reading this file in a variable let say st.
Now, I want to find the text from {=BeginCatRecords=} to {=EndCatRecords=}
I am using this code :
string pattern = @"{=BeginCatRecords=}.*?{=EndCatRecords=}";
Match MatchTop = Regex.Match(st, pattern);
string NavMatch = MatchTop.ToString();
It is working fine when I write the html in one line (as displayed above) in my html template file..
But when I change it to multiple line as :
{=BeginCatRecords=}
<TABLE>
<TR>
<TD colspan='2'>Links comes here</TD>
</TR>
</TABLE>
{=EndCatRecords=}
It doesn't work.
Can you please let me know how should I change the pattern to meet the requirement....
Thank you in advance..

There's an option you pass in to an overloaded method of the match function to make the regex run on multiple lines

Have you tried:
Regex.Match(string1,string2, RegexOptions.Multiline)

Many Thanks for your reply.
I tried your suggestion but no avail...
Here is the HTML code from a file (categories.html), I a reading in a variable st :
<br />
<TABLE width="100%" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellSpacing=0 >
<TR valign="top" >
{=BeginCatRecords=}<TD width="45%" align='center' style='border:1px #F4EED4 solid;'><Table align='center' border="0"><tr><td align='center' style="padding-top:15px;"><a href="{=CatLink=}"><IMG SRC="images/category/{=CatImg=}" border="0" width="150"></a><BR><a href="{=CatLink=}" class='catlinks'><strong>{=CatName=}</a></strong></td></tr><tr><td><table width="90%" border='0' align="center" cellpadding="0" cellSpacing=0><tr><td align='left'>{=CatDesc=}</td></tr></table></td></tr></table></td><td width='5%'> </td>{=EndCatRecords=}
</TR>
<TR><TD colspan='2'> </TD></TR>
</TABLE>
In this file, from {=BeginCatRecords=} to {=EndCatRecords=} is written in one line.. and it is working fine...
But if I split it in multiline like :
{=BeginCatRecords=}
<TD width="45%" align='center' style='border:1px #F4EED4 solid;'>
<Table align='center' border="0">
<tr><td align='center' style="padding-top:15px;"><a href="{=CatLink=}"><IMG SRC="images/category/{=CatImg=}" border="0" width="150"></a><BR><a href="{=CatLink=}" class='catlinks'><strong>{=CatName=}</a></strong></td></tr><tr><td><table width="90%" border='0' align="center" cellpadding="0" cellSpacing=0><tr><td align='left'>{=CatDesc=}</td></tr></table></td></tr></table></td><td width='5%'> </td>
{=EndCatRecords=}
It stops working...
Below is the code I am using to match the string :
string NavMatch = null;
pattern = @"{=BeginCatRecords=}.*?{=EndCatRecords=}";
Match MatchTop = Regex.Match(st, pattern, RegexOptions.Multiline);
NavMatch = MatchTop.ToString();
Please help..

Hi..Iam using Visual studio 2003.
I have a Signup webform which has many text boxes.These text boxes are validated using validation controls.So if some one didn't enter proper values and click the sign up Button control the Validation controls will prevent the Button Click Event Handler method from being executed and will display error messages using a validation summary control.The form is working fine locally(on my PC) but when I upload the page and the dll file for the application(as always) to the Web Server the Validation controls dont work.
What could prevent the Validation controls from working on the internet?
I am too late but i will never give up

I have run into cases where validators do not work on a server. If you cant change the server settings, you can simply disable client side validation. The validators will work on the server side.
|
|
|
|
|
Could this let the postback event to be fired? because I prefer that no postback events occur.

A "postback" will occur, but the user will never know it happened. The screen will look like it never posted back.

Obviously this site[^] has the answer that you need.

I have searched this site but couldn't get the connection string for remote connectivity.

What do you mean by remote connectivity?
All those connection strings work for both local and remote servers.
