It's hard to say. HAve you installed the core ajax toolkit, or are you trying to install the controls and don't have the toolkit installed ? Where do you get this error, and waht is it's exact text ? Have you tried typing in the EXACT error message in to google ? That often yields helpful results.

I have a datalist bound to the following sql data source;
<asp:SqlDataSource ID="SqlDataSource1" runat="server" ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:RemoteSqlServer %>"
SelectCommand="SP_ProductSearch" SelectCommandType="StoredProcedure" SortParameterName="SortParam">
<SelectParameters>
<asp:Parameter Name="IntroducerID" Type="Int32" DefaultValue="0" />
<asp:QueryStringParameter Name="PermutationID" QueryStringField="Permutation" Type="Int32" />
</SelectParameters>
</asp:SqlDataSource>
The two provided parameters are required by the stored procedure. There is a third parameter required named SortParam which is used to define how the results are ordered. How can I alter this on the click of various button inside the header of the datalist. I can't seem to find out a way how. Thanks

The expectation with data sources is that you'll select all the data, and then the control will handle sorting. You can probably still do this. To pass this parameter, you probably need to write the code to call the proc, etc.

The stored procedure that is used to populate the data source has a parameter 'Sort Param' that is used to sort the results. Therefore upon click events within the datalist, which I have already built and are triggering fine, I wish to simply change the parameter that orders results and rebind the source to the datalist. Surely this simple operation is possible.
What exactly does SortParameterName do and how are you supposed to use it?

Add an OnDataBinding event handler to the data source, the event args object should have a Paramters property which you can manipulate (sexualy is that pleases you).

Respected Gurus
i have a webpage(frmShowRefForm.aspx).In this page i m accepting two parameters Ref_No,Year and save them in the global variables like this
Glb_Ref_No=Ref_No
Glb_Year=Year
And opening the second page(frmDisplayRpt.aspx)
Response.Write("window.open('frmdisplayrpt.aspx','new_Win');")
after executing this line i thought that frmDisplayRpt page will be loaded.
but its not loading that page and so i cannot execute the code.
Now i have to use the values of above two global variables in the second page where i need these two as they acts as parameters for my database stored procedure so that i can show the report on tha basis of parameters.
although in place of response.write()
if i use server.transfer it works.
i think when i m using response.write()
it does not hit the server.
if i m right then suggest some solution
Thanks

Could it be that you are using new_Win instead of _Blank ?

I have tried '_Blank' instead of 'new_win'
still tha same problem my second page's load event is not fire........
|
|
|
|

a) Create Two properies on your first page and then access the same from Page 2.
b) store them in session variables.
3) if not critical data, then you can use cookies or querystring
4) You can use hidden var.
Thx

means... .NET framework is not installed in the PC where you are installing the application

Hi all,
i am writing asp.net using .net framework 2.0 and vs2005.
I have 2 buttons (both server side - save and cancel) buttons, 2 requiredfieldvalidators and 1 validationsummary on the page.
Page is working correctly at this scenario:
- Enter the page
- Click "Cancel" button
- Button click event works and program enters in btnCancel_Click function.
My problem is occuring in the scenario below:
- Enter the page
- Click "Save" button
- Validation summary says "Oppps - you didn't fill the required fields"
- Click "Cancel" button
- Nothing happens <- PROBLEM IS HERE
- Click "Cancel" button AGAIN
- Button click event works and program enters in btnCancel_Click function.
Does anyone have any idea?
Thanks

Check the Page_Load event. Usually when the button click is delayed it is because of something running outside of If Not IsPostBack .

Have you set validation group setting on all validators and save button? Sounds like the validator is still running on the cancel button which presumably you dont want to happen because the user has pressed cancel so the textbox values wont be used.
The validation occurs when focus is taken of off the control to validate. So if you fill in an unvalidated control and then click on save, the validation event only occurs then. This also prevents the buttons click event from occurring and going back to the server. Therefore you must press the button again to continue

I have a report that I created in crystal reportss and imported in visual studio.net 2003. I am using Crystal reports version7. The report displays only when i save the data with report in Crystal report.
If i deactvate that savedata with report option it is giving an error "Logon Failed".If use that savedata with report, the data in the report is old and out of date. What changes i have to make for this???
The code i have given for this is
On the page load------->
Try
dbconnection()
Dim rpt As ReportDocument = New ReportDocument
CrystalReportViewer1.DisplayGroupTree = False
rpt.Load(Server.MapPath("rptCentre.rpt"))
CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = rpt
CrystalReportViewer1.DataBind()
Catch ex As Exception
CrystalReportViewer1.Visible = False
Response.Write(ex.Message)
Finally
con.Close()
End Try
What might be the reason for this type of error??Give me an idea
Thanks in advance

provide your database info
//set the database loggon information.
//**Note that the third parameter is the DSN name
// and not the Database or System name
reportDocument.SetDatabaseLogon("pchitriv", "Windows2000",
"TestDB_DSN", "testDB", false);

Hi.
I need to add the following line to the Http Header of a request to a web service:
"Accept: application/dime"
Do you have any suggestion on how to achieve that?
Very important: I use WSE 2.0.
Thanks in advance.

The follwing code authenticates properly from my computer, but when deployed on www.testdomain.com it doesnt authenticate properly with mail.testdomain.com. The admin of the server said said my problem was because they use Pop-before-SMTP authentication... Is that not what I'm doing here? Or could something else be causing this problem?
<br />
<br />
MailMessage message = new MailMessage("mailer@testdomain.com", "testreciever@gmail.com", "feedback", "WOOT!");<br />
<br />
SmtpClient mailClient = new SmtpClient("mail.testdomain.com");<br />
<br />
mailClient.Port = 25;<br />
mailClient.UseDefaultCredentials = false;<br />
mailClient.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("mailer@testdomain.com", "testpasswd");<br />
<br />
mailClient.DeliveryMethod = SmtpDeliveryMethod.Network;<br />
mailClient.Send(message);<br />
message.Dispose();<br />
<br />
Thanks in advance, Curt
