There are no limits in the AJAX technology itself, you are only limited by the implementation that you use.
The IIS web server for example has a limit for the size of a request. By default it's 4 MB.
The size of the response is limited to the available memory on the server if you are using buffered output.

It doesn't magically work because you learned a new buzzword.
Hard to answer this question. I mean, how do you mean it ? It does what it does.

Once again returning to the codeproject to find some help.
During some developpement our client wanted a small tool for image editing. We wrote one in C# and load it as a dll on the client side thanks to an <object> and asp:placeholder.
The tool works fine but the amount of memory that is being used is enormous. (We're working with files of several mb). the worst is that when we leave the page the memory usage doesn't go down... we disposed all the object, used the garbage collector nothing works... so when the user opens 10 images IE stops because of a "out of memory" message.
We have tried the application as a standalone and well the memory usage is less and the garbage collector does what it needs to do but our client wants the application to stay inside IE (and they want to use IE and not firefox or other browser)
So the question is, is there a way to force IE to unload the dll, the picture etc. that I'm missing? or maybe another way to load the dll then the object tag?
Any solution would fit as long as when we quit the page the memory goes back to "normal" and well it needs to stay inside IE
any help would be greatly appreciated
Kind regards

This might be due to a language misunderstanding but "provide me the code" is considered rude on this site. You are expected to write your own code. If you get stuck or get unexpected results, post your code and then we'll help.

Well, that article describes how to use an authenticated SMTP server for sending mails. This will avoid delivering mails to spam.

Yahoo has something called DomainKeys for Sender SMTP validation. I think it is also a free framework. Did you consider using that?

Use Dataset and Datatable for binding.
or if you would like to bind with data reader then use
objreader=ddSqlCommand.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior.CloseConnection);

Hi there,
And if i am not wrong.
I think you need to add two more lines.
uxdrpAcitivity.DataSource = Reader
uxdrpActivity.DataTextField=""
uxdrpActivity.DataValueField=""
uxdrpAcitivity.DataBind()
and yes
cmd.Connection.Dispose()
Might be this can be your issue..
try it out

Hi,
I am having a couple of issues with this control. I'm using .NET 2.0. Here is my declaration:
<asp:CreateUserWizard
ID="FCreateUser"
CancelButtonText="Cancel"
CancelDestinationPageUrl="../../Default.aspx"
CreateUserButtonText="Register"
CreateUserButtonStyle-CssClass="formbutton"
Width="100%"
runat="server">
<WizardSteps>
<asp:CreateUserWizardStep ID="FCreateUserStep" runat="server">
<ContentTemplate>
...
...
...
</ContentTemplate>
</asp:CreateUserWizardStep>
</WizardSteps>
</asp:CreateUserWizard>
The register button is to the right, I need it to be to the left. How do I do this? And the cancel button does not display at all. How do I get it to display?
Please can someone help?

how to secure files (pdf), the recomendation is httphandelers, it works absolutely great.But now an new issue has been arrived.
What i did , i registerd ISAPI extension (.pdf) in IIS 6.0,to let process the request to ASP.Net runtime, there i used context.response.transmitfile to send the file to the browser, as client will be viewing file in browser not downloading, but in case when file is bigger than 20 MB ,(file can be upto 100MB), it takes time, obviously it should take.
But when we redirect or request pdf file without registering ISAPI extension, browser starts showing file, means you see instantly first page or few pages while other are downloading, how to achive this kind of performance, and this kind of behaviour, with letting asp.net runtime process the request.
I hope you guys get my question & if any explaination needed please ask.
Note: Same issue with uploading files with .Net uploader control, even after we change machine.config file size attribute, i want suggestion about better performance, when many users are doing both uploading, and viewing files from repository.
context.Response.Clear();
context.Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "inline;filename=" + values[1] + ".pdf");
context.Response.ContentType = "application/pdf";
context.Response.BufferOutput = false;
context.Response.TransmitFile(physicalfilepath);
context.Response.Flush();
context.Response.Close();
context.Response.End();
Many Thanks,

Hello,
I want to set up a web service which return critical financial information from my ASP.NET eCommerce Website and I want to call that service from my Windows Application. Now, I want to hide the web method signatures from other people as this Web Service is only for my own usage and for security purpose, I dont feel safe to expose this webservice to the public. Now, is there any way I can hide the service ?
Thanks

Do you have some kind of authentication/authorisation set up for your web method?

Thanks for your reply.
In my web method, in have 2 string input, user name, password so when the remote application connects to this web service and provide wrong user name and password as arguments to the method, then the web method wont return the values. But It may be possible for the hackers to easily break this methods so I wanted to hide the method signature completely. I am new to Web Service so I was wondering if the Web Service is meant to be public for all the time ?
