I had to do something similar to this at University. I did it myself, before such sites as CP or even Google. I aced it. Another member of the class asked me to help him and I did. But I soon realized he just wanted me to code it all for him, so I embedded enough bugs and ignored the requirements sufficiently such that he'd never ask me again.

If your teacher won't help you, complain to the principals of the school. If we did your work, you don't think your teacher would notice that you turned in professional work but had no idea how to do basic things when asked in class ?

i am using an upload control for uploading files to server in my application but it fails for large files of (780MB) are not uploaded by this control.so is there any size capacity for upload control in asp.net.if yes how can we increase it.
Thanx in advance.

Default size for Fileupload is 4 MB. But you can configure it in web.config
in this way
<system.web>
<httpruntime maxrequestlength="102400" executiontimeout="180" />
</system.web>
the default is "4096" (4 MB). Max value is "1048576" (1 GB) for .NET Framework 1.0/1.1 and "2097151" (2 GB) for .NET Framework 2.0.

Haven't you been asking this over and over ?
Even if you configure the control to accept a file that big ( and it's just a layer in ASP.NET, that rejects files above a certain size, at the end of the day, it's still just a HTML file control ), your server is going to almost certainly time out before it receives that big a file. That's not what HTTP is for. Why do you need to get a file that big.

What do you mean by 'authorisation' ? When someone logs in, you'd typically store their user id in the session and then write your pages from a common base that checks for this session value and jumps to the login page if it's missing.

I have a gridview in which there are 5 columns. Each of the columns have item templates in it. I enter the number of rows that i want in the grid and i populate an object with 'n' blank rows and then bind it to the grid.
When i click on one of the rows and click on a delete button outside the grid, i want the row to be deleted.
How can i achieve this ?
|
|
|
|
|
Why does the delete button have to be outside the row ? That just makes it harder to do. I guess you need checkboxes in the grid then, so you can work out on postback which items were selected.

How can we add a asp.net textbox dynamically using java script
|
|
|
|
|
You can't, obviously. How can you add a server side control, on the client ? Even if you do it on the server, your viewstate is not going to contain it unless you add it before page load. Your best bet is to have a server hidden control and to store the details of your dynamically added controls in that.

That's right, you need to run SQL to create your DB on the server.

Check the code that's generated already and copy that. I've done this, and I'm sure the code didn't look like that. Just create a button with an event on a form and look at the html.

Hello all,
I have a formview (which is bind with the result of a LINQ Query) and I want to update the datasource by clicking the "edit button" which is an ImageButton.
When I click on it the page reloads but nothing happens. I added the "frmOverzicht_ItemCommand" in the code behind but this is never entered.
Can someone help me out on this issue ??
Here's the code :
Within the <itemtemplate> i have the following line of code :
<itemtemplate>
<asp:imagebutton id="EditButton" commandname="Edit" alternatetext="Editeer Dossier" runat="server" imageurl="../Images/Update_Dossier.jpg" xmlns:asp="#unknown">
In the code-behind file i have the following function :
Protected Sub frmOverzicht_ItemCommand(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.FormViewCommandEventArgs) Handles frmOverzicht.ItemCommand
If e.CommandName = "Edit" Then
msgbox("ok")
End If
End Sub
Can someone help me ?
