My professor asked me this question. I couldn't provide and answer. What special features differentiate the JVM from dalvik. And why couldn't google simply adopt the JVM as the virtual machine for Android. Also, what are the limitations of the JVM? or did google just want something different just for the sake of patent privileges? please I need answers

It is Dalvik...Maybe that typo is the reason you didn't found nothing with Google (or maybe you never met Google?)...

Your first port of call should have been your professor or your course notes.

After that use your favourite search engine ... e.g. google results[^]

As to why google made any specific choices perhaps you ought to contact them[^]
