Connection string is Correct But Connection Problem

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. the server was not found or was not accessible.Verify that the instance name is corrected and that Sql Server is configured to allow remote connections.(Provider:named Pipes Provider,error:40-Could not open a connection to SQL Server)

Well the message is telling you everything you need to know. Do those checks and make sure that your connection string is trying to connect to the right server.

If the server is on another box, the port may not be open.

The issue is the code cannot connect to SQL. Usually, the connection string is wrong.

Solution 2

This error message simply means it cannot find either the server or the database in the connection string. Please verify the access on server, server name, database name, etc.
