what is the best language to learn to make apps?

IM really interested in learning to code, a friend of mine says C# is best to learn because its multipurpose and it will benefit you in most future things, i would like to become a coder for apps among other things, is this a smart way to start?

Yes, as your friend rightly said you can start with C# as it's one of the best Object oriented programming languages.

But in programming world, building logical sense, writing algorithm, knowledge on data structure is more important. Programming language is used for implementing the logic to address a particular problem.
