How to write the code for enhancement of high contrast digital images?

Here first, i'm splitting the high contrast digital image into Intensity image and color(R,G,B) image.
For the enhancement of Intensity image, i'm using Histogram Equalization and for the enhancement of Color image, i'm using Wavelet Transformation(Haar).How to write a MATLAB code for this?
