I followed your brilliant tutorial on using the raspberry Pi and Camera as in my case using it to spot wild life in the garden.

The thing is you gave a option of downloading you're current motion.conf file which I have done as I feel confident to modify it once install. Since you give a explanation on all modification to the code.

I don't know how to transfer this file to the Pi apart from the directory were it should go.
I'm using PuTTY to talk to the PI

Should I use Ctrl C on the PC and move to the directory and then use Ctrl X

It is not clear who you are talking to here but in any case, you want to look at a program such as WinSCP[^] which will allow you to copy between systems. Don't get rid of PuTTY - it runs on top of it..

[update] Sorry I see you tagged linux, and the solution above is for Windows machines.

On linux, you want to use scp. Your friend google can help you find out how to run scp on your linux box.
