I never understood the value of some feature. Just the opposite, forcing a user to scan online could be perceived as an obtrusive feature. You see, everyone who has a scanner connected a computer executing your application usually has the software to scan. I remember when my financial institution (generally very security-savvy) suggested me an option to scan the check, I denied this opportunity as soon as I saw it's only done online, because — who knows what happens to my sensitive data if it is done online? Besides, it involves ActiveX control hosted by the browser, which is a big no-no for all security-savvy users.

Always post the questions(related to particular article) at bottom of that article. Atleast mention the article url in your question.

Probably you need a 3rd party solution for this(Even in Codeproject you could find those)

Closer thing I found is the below article(only for IE because it use ActiveX)
.NET Web Twain[^]

Please don't post solutions to chat with people asking or answering. The messages are not always sorted by date, so it can be a bit difficult to follow them correctly.
The best option is to use the "Have a question or comment?" (or the tiny "reply" on another comment). Another advantage is, that the person you write to will get a notification, otherwise it could be that he/she doesn't see your additional message.
