Application for a WAN

Hello.
I am very interested in developing applications that make use of a wide area network. I have been reading about sockets and various other books on how to develop applications on networks, but I can't find a book that talks about applications running on wide networks? I would greatly appreciate any tips about this area just to get me started.

Solution 1

You will need to read about sockets, and different socket programming patterns used across the vairty of .net frameworks available (1.0, 2.0, 3.5), start by simple Client-Server application, I believe there is alot of article out there giving samples on this kind of applications.
