Hi Please let me know how I can find the name or preferably the ID of the form that the current form has been called by in winforms.

Do you mean System.Windows.Forms? (Or Web forms?) Please tag "WinForms", or whatever is applicable.

Utilize Owner property of the form. Refer MSDN for more details.
