I am building reports using rdlc and displaying it in my asp.net application. We have used the latest html 5 tags to develop our aspx pages. Now the problem is that the rdlc report is taking too much space to display in report viewer. Too much gaps among lines and extra lines been generated . We had to separate our page and call it in an iframe then the problem was gone. I need a solution as it is just a temporary solution and not a permanent. the problem is on all major browsers.

Hi,

I had exactly the same issue rendering reports using the web viewer for reporting services. In the end I discovered that the components within the report whilst appeared to be exactly aligned in the report designer, if you look at the positions and measurements, they actually overlap ever so slightly. This, when rendering in the web, because of the flow of the html forces extra lines to appear.

If I remember correct, there may be a warning generated in the report designer when compiling/publishing the report which warns about overlapping controls.

I checked at your point but the thing is that html 5 is causing such problem because when i am not using any of such tags it is rendering properly.
