How to install sharePoint on Windows 7 Home Basic

Hi!!!

I have Windows 7 Home Basic Operating System in my Laptop and I want to install SharePoint Foundation on my computer, But I can't help it.

I have done the following steps to do that-

1. Download SharePointFoundation.exe,

2. I put this file in 'c:\SharePointFiles'.

3. Run SharePointFoundation.exe

4.It shows the following Message-

Setup is Unable to Proceed due to the following error(s)
This Product Requires Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 or above.
Correct the issue(s) listed above and re-run setup.

Please tell me, how to solve this problum.

Solution 1

Sharepoint requires Windows Servers to install, you can not install it on client operating systems.

You can create a Windows 2008 virtual machine with VMWare Player (or any other virtual machine) and install Sharepoint in that.
