PROJECT MANAGEMENT ISSUE

I am new to an organisation. I have been assigned a Project(maintainence project) whose coding is very critical and confusing. I have been given a short summary of this project by the person whoi developed it. There is no standards or design pattern followed. On top of that, i have been given a deadline... Moreover there is no TL assigned but there is a project lead whio is very busy t ogive time. What should i do ??

Solution 1

You need to ask them for some documentation.
If they don't have any documentation available, then I'm afraid, the only thing you can do is debug the code to figure out what is going on.

Solution 2

Start by going through what you have to do/change in the project.

If you do not understand what you have to do it is the job of the organization to give you the required information to get your job done.

You must demand time from your assignee.
