Using SqlDependency in WAN (through VPN) - any experience?

I have been working on developing an application (C #), which use SqlDependency class. The purpose of application is to connect the users from several different, geographical, locations and share information in chain. All locations should be connected by VPN mechanism. SQL Server 2005 will be installed at one location.
The application has been tested in terms of local network and server SQLEXPRESS and works as expected (without any bug or problems caused by SqlDependency class).

Question: Has anyone used SqlDependency in WAN network? Would somebody be so kind to share experiences?
