Downloading stock prices from Yahoo

Hi
I have been using the following format for downloading stock prices
from Yahoo:

http://download.finance.yahoo.com/d/quotes.csv?s=YHOO+GOOG+MSFT&f=sl1d1t1c1hgvbap2[^]

My problem is that I would like to be able to download, the HLOCV values
against my list of shares for a specific date, other than the current.

This covers those days when I have been away or on holiday and have not
been able to download the current share prices.

If anybody could provide a solution for the above it would be most
appreciated.

Solution 1

Try asking them (Yahoo that is) if they offer a service with historical data.
That's the most logical thing to do, we're not in finance but in the technicalities of programming.

There are plenty of programs on the internet that show you how to download equity prices from yahoo finance. Use google

Just by checking out their website and URL, I get http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?s=DIS&a=00&b=2&c=1962&d=00&e=15&f=2011&g=d[^].

1/2/1962 to 1/15/2011 uses a-e it seems.

DIS was the stock.

Check this site as well for all parameters.
