Fix a missing part in a HTML code

I have a pre-made code base, a black and white photo overlay - however this only works for single photos, it will not work for video, gifs or groups of photos. Is there another type of code i should be using or is there something i can add to the code to incorporate this?

What I have tried:

Nothing, i haven't been able to find any useful information.
