If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?

Hi Mark,

It might. For now I've sent you an email confirmation request and tried one other thing. Please let me know if you receive the confirmation request. If you do, and you accept it, and don't get your Insider tomorrow, changing your email would probably work.

The team made some recent updates to the newsletter system. I'm guessing in the process they also fixed some things.

FWIW, I started this thread a year and a half ago. In March of 2023, I got a few emails then they stopped again. I tried all kinds of things, including changing my email several times but I finally gave up. Now, suddenly, I started getting the emails again last week (June 7, 2024). I didn't change anything recently except to log on again after 9 months absence.

Additionally... I am just curious about what can trigger it. A spam nuke? An owner deletion once the article was selected? The hamsters being fed after midnight?

Edit:
You can even vote for it... that would be a nice prank if the winner is a deleted entry (already in position #4).

I'd agree - but since it was a glitch in the system that got it in the contest to start with, there isn't a lot of point raising a bug report and fixing it! Laugh | :laugh:

It should definitely be an option to remove an option from a running survey. Currently I cannot. It's a rare requirement so it will be tackled accordingly. The last time this happened was years ago.

4. The feature which allows you to lock down the syntax and forbid overly clever and totally unreadable code written by a dev more focussed on proving they are smart than they are in working with everyone who will ever need to maintain their incomprehensible code.

Oh, hang on, that feature hasn't been added yet.

Of course, the survey may take another form, depending on ...

Having already put my backside in ... in proposing this survey, I dare say I can see another survey that asks opinions about adoption, or use, of .NET/C# versions > 9.

The new kid, Math Generics, looks interesting: for me, the tricks I had to go through, back when, for robust conversion of Numeric Types, and parsing of strings as numeric were ... surreal.

Nothing recent; all hits were two and three, and sometimes twelve, years old.

A circumstance has arisen where direct communication with another member would be highly beneficial, and is totally inappropriate for public discussion.

Way back when; this was a click and type thing.

Today, no-can-find.

Did the big honchos of this site have to remove it for some logistics reason ?

I can easily imagine some significant abuse of the feature; so, no whine if that's the case.

Otherwise, if I'm missing an obvious place to click, please let me know.

At the bottom of each message is a "Email" item the when clicked allows you to send an email to the author of a message.
