Not sure if this is a bug or design intent, but when a comment is deleted (by the poster) or closed (for being inappropriate), it continues to appear, with the faint grey text "Deleted" at its upper right. For example, see my comment to this question[^], which also appears on my "Comments made"[^] page.

This is by design.
You can see it for two reasons:
1. you wrote it.
2. You have sufficient rep.
This allows the moderators to review deleted comments and correct or delete them if the reason for deletion was not valid.
Members without sufficient rep, or not logged in can't see the deleted comments.

This appears to have happened, but, since there's no record of the comment in my status/history page, i assume this may be "fake news"

I think Protectors can delete questions and answers, so I presume comments as well. But the strange thing is, when a comment gets flagged as inappropriate, I can still see it in the poster's "Comments made" list, only marked "Deleted".

Could you point out the Question or Answer the Comment was for so I can look for it and when it was posted. Some idea of the content would help.
It should only be marked as deleted and still show up on you Comment History.

thanks, Matthew,
i would not disclose that "publicly" for fear of alleging something without reliable evidence.
thanks, Bill

Some <pre> blocks in QA are not limiting their height and adding a scroll-bar, and the "copy code" link is missing.
For example: Data loss while received from serialport.[^]

Same result in Firefox 93 and Chrome 95.
There are no errors in the browser console, only a few CSP warnings.

This is the result of yesterday's deployment of some 'improved' functionality.
Looks like we missed an edge case.
Working on it.

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?

Looks like there is no validation that a QA solution must contain something other than empty markup:

It does have some formatting issues - the custom header CSS classes from Pete's blog don't work here.
