Stuff about setting? "Settings", at least for this cpian, have never worked. Settings I lump into the same category as Search. If you use it for a purpose don't expect it to come through.

I'd like to qualify the above addendum because after thinking for a minute about how sour it sounded just after I hit the post, I regret the attitude.

You know what Search at CP is really good for? Finding things YOU HAVE posted. And if I'm not mistaken, it'll bring up a list of them as long as your arm as the case might be.

So thank-you CP for the wonderful Search facility.

I guess I was not clear, and my message implied that you can change them. In fact these settings are controlled by CodeProject based on our contributions to the site, and are more properly privileges or permissions.

If I wanted to change my assessment of an article, I could previously click on its shield (the one showing the number of people who have currently moderated it). This would bring up a page were I could undo my previous assessment, allowing me to enter a new one. This functionality now appears to be broken.

EDIT: Maybe this has been simplified, because now I can change my evaluation by simply entering a new one. I don't recall that being possible before.

Undo it... not sure. But recast it works with a simple reload and select another thing.

This was a bug - only staff were supposed to have access to that page, not us mere mortals.
It was fixed recently.

You can only re-vote on the article to change your vote, you cannot alter other user votes anymore.

If I click on the link in the original post, I also see it, and if I then click on "Update this article", it opens it in the article editor.

I believe I found and fixed the bug. The 'fun' thing about this bug is that it had exactly the same symptoms as another bug that Chris just fixed, but an entirely unrelated cause.

An interesting few hours tracking it down.

Please let me know if you have this happen again,
If it does, I need to take another trip down the rabbit hole.

Go to an active user's reputation graph (e.g. OriginalGriff)
Place the cursor at the right of the graph (to read the most recent weekly totals)
Compare the total points to the rep points displayed on the user's home page

For OriginalGriff, the total on the graph was 1,700,000+, while his actual total is 2,500,000. I know that OG is very active, but that's ridiculous!

(Similar inconsistencies were found for Marc Clifton, and for others)

Even for my rather more modest total, it's off by quite a bit: the graph shows 33,233 as of today, whereas it was actually about 38,825 when I signed on this morning.

There are also discrepancies between the Who's Who at CodeProject and Professional Profile pages. The former says I have 1,476 messages and 0 comments, whereas the latter shows 1,412 messages and 34 comments. Mousing over my name on a post also shows 1,412 messages.

This is a know issue that has finally reached the top of the pile. Don't worry, none of your rep points were harmed in the creation of the bug.

Have you tried clearing your browser cache to ensure you are getting the latest files.

The left-hand navigation uses JavaScript to setup the stickyness control.
