I don't see what Google has to do with using Code Project's search feature. If I use the textbox at the top-right of the page to search for messages that contain "dragons", the second item listed has this link: http://www.codeproject.com/Messages/4345375/Re-Exceptionally-explained-books.aspx. That appears to be a link to a particular message. Yet, when I click it, every message on that page is expanded.
Are you not able to differentiate between a search initiated from Google and a search initiated from Code Project?

Ah. I guess it's been a while since I used the search. It just 'felt' like my preference for the layout wasn't being saved. Off the top of my head I can't think of a better way to do this and still meet the concern that motivated the change.

Currently if you try to set it back to normal, it returns to the first page of the Forum you are in.

I've just sent your password reminder through the "send password" page with the CAPTCHA and it worked fine for me. Are you sure you entered the code in the right box, did you retry with a different code if the first failed?

Hi,
Most of the questions require screenshot to show others what exactly we are facing.
Currently we don't have this feature.
Can we implement this in "As a question" section ?
This will be very useful.

You can post a screen shot as a link - take the picture, put it on something like tinypic.com[^] [other image hosting sites are available] and link to it in your post. Simples.

In that case how can you restrict a user from not attaching an inappropriate image to the link provided to access that image.

It is slightly different. The clicking of a link is an intentional action to leave the site and there is no guarantee, implied or explicit, that the external content is appropriate. The content of this site is, as much as possible, kept 'Kid Sister Safe'. Chris et al are responsible for maintaining the high standards of Codeproject and allowing embedded images in un-moderated content is seen as not conducive to the harmony of the site.

This has been discussed many times and the hamsters are firmly against allowing images.
The moment we're allowed to upload images, unsuitable pictures will start to appear, it is a sad but true indictment of the human psyche. In addition, if you really need to put up an image, there a lot of third party sites were you can put a picture and then link to it in the post.

I agree with you Nagy; that some unsuitable contents may appear as screenshots.
Even with external images, this can be done.
So, if we implement uploading screenshot feature and some guys having more reputation points can approve the image and the image will be available only after the approval.
The question will be seen, but the screeshot will be visible after certain time when it gets approval. Just an idea.

And how would the approvers get to know about the screenshots? There are often 50 or more new questions posted when I log on to the system, but I would not wish to go through every one to see if there was an image awaiting approval. In reality, images are very rarely necessary in problem diagnosis, a good description of the problem and a copy and paste of the relevant code and any error messages will suffice.
One of these days I'm going to think of a really clever signature.

Hi Richard,
This is a very obvoius problem and for this we can do the following things.
1. We have to make more people (at least 50 guys) as approvers. We can also decide this
according to average login rate of high reputed guys in a partcular day/week/month,
so that we are sure that some approver is online everytime to approve the screenshot.
2. Even after the screenshot appears, we will have another "flag" option by which Admin
will be notified immiediately and take necessary step on that picture.

It still does not guarantee that they will do it. I don't see this as a big deal either way, but I doubt that it would have the benefit that you are hoping for. In my experience of questions where the OP posts an image, the image rarely conveys any useful information, rather it is used by people who are unable or unwilling to collect a proper set of diagnostic information.
One of these days I'm going to think of a really clever signature.

You are still assuming that all these people want to do it. Remember CodeProject only works because of what people enjoy doing in their spare time, I don't see many people signing up to this idea right now.
Given the support you are getting for this suggestion I would suggest it is dead in the water.

If people can edit, vote, flag (Unclear or Incomplete, Repost, Not a question, Off-topic, Spam/abusive) and delete the questions, why can't they enjoy in approving the screenshots.

Every feature has some pros and cons.
But we need to take steps for implementing those.
Before some days, I suggested the notification feature, though it had some pros and cons as per the discussion with Chris[^], but it was implemented and up now on website and I think it is the most  feature.
So, if we will implement screenshot feature also, it will increase the user UI experience.
After the implementation, if we will face issues as per your points and users will compalain against it, we will remove that.

But the feature now helps us to find any updates on Code Project quickly without refering to the mail notifications.
