What exactly is a moderator? Rob said that, briefly, he had edit/delete power for everyone in the forum but it disappeared. If I had it, I never noticed it.
In all honesty I am not sure we need moderation - since elimination of voting from the Back Room, there's been one instance of a troll posting the same message nine or ten times (he was ignored) and the case of someone posting a harmful link - certainly something that could hapen in the public forums as easily as the Back Room and handled without any serious problems by reporting it to you.
However, if there must be such a thing, it is probably better that folks like me who think it is the ultimate of last resorts be vested. Only. . .right now I've got the title and nothing else. i.e. the emperor is feeling a draft. 
If you're reading this and asking what the back room is - move along, there's nothing for you here. These are not the droids you seek.

All moderators should have edit/delete rights. If it's disappeared then we snipped the wrong wire. I'll post a bug report.
As to whether or not you need it, I leave that in your hands. If you don't want to use it, don't.

The forum signature applies to all the forums. Is it possible to expand the signature to more than one? At times I wish to set different signatures based on which forum I am in. May be show one for Lounge, another for programming forums and may be a third for all others.
I know the Signature can be edited per message post. That may be ok for one or two times, but if I want something permanent signature to apply only in the programming forums, it is pain the 'you know what' to edit the signature for every post. Now the same signature may not be that important in the Lounge or SB.

I would like to vary my sig, depending on the post, not the forum. So my proposal would be to have the possibility to define say up to 8 different sigs, each with a user-selectable short name; then have one set as the default but also being offered a DropDown presenting the short names and allowing to choose one to replace the default sig.
To accomodate your forum-oriented sigs, we could then make the default dropdown choice depend on the current forum...

The short answer is: Because it's marked as an answer and is in a programming forum.
Answers in programming forums only allow Good Answer/Bad Answer and we found that a reader would try and answer a question, or post a followup question to a question and leave it marked as an answer, and these answers (or non-answers) were getting voted as "bad answer" which was leaving swathes of grey everywhere and demotivating members to answer.

Hello,
First, thank you all for such a wonderful resource. I have been a lurker here for quite some time now and this site has been extremely informative and a priceless resource for me to grow from C "student" to C# programmer.
Anyway, I have noticed something unusual this morning and I feel compelled to share. It is probably nothing serious, but I will let you decide.
This was the article I wanted to access:

But, I forgot the link, so I queried Google and found this link instead:

When I tried to download the source, I was not allowed, because I had not logged in.
So, I almost did, having just booted the PC, I thought maybe I had cleared my cache. I decided to try Google again, and found the article with the correct domain name entry in the link.
Anyway, maybe it is nothing, but maybe it is an attempt at hijacking the site...
Thought I would let you guys know and then you could decide if there is an issue.

I think what you're seeing is twofold. One, google has indexed this site using the IP Address, and as such will direct you to that second link.
Two, cookies (used to remember your login) are only sent to the domain that created them. You logged in at codeproject.com, but that cookie is not sent to the IP addressed linked (as it constitutes a different domain).
Im not sure if you can correct google's index particularly easily, other than telling it next time it tries to index to use the correct domain name.
