The article is gone but by the name of it, I remember that this guy tried to publish a lot of articles (all starting with "varma") yesterday. Well, article is certainly not the appropriate word for it, it seems he was trying to use CP to store his files

Hello,
First, thank you all for such a wonderful resource. I have been a lurker here for quite some time now and this site has been extremely informative and a priceless resource for me to grow from C "student" to C# programmer.
Anyway, I have noticed something unusual this morning and I feel compelled to share. It is probably nothing serious, but I will let you decide.
This was the article I wanted to access:

But, I forgot the link, so I queried Google and found this link instead:
Touchscreen Keyboard UserControl
When I tried to download the source, I was not allowed, because I had not logged in.
So, I almost did, having just booted the PC, I thought maybe I had cleared my cache. I decided to try Google again, and found the article with the correct domain name entry in the link.
Anyway, maybe it is nothing, but maybe it is an attempt at hijacking the site...
Thought I would let you guys know and then you could decide if there is an issue.

I think what you're seeing is twofold. One, google has indexed this site using the IP Address, and as such will direct you to that second link.
Two, cookies (used to remember your login) are only sent to the domain that created them. You logged in at codeproject.com, but that cookie is not sent to the IP addressed linked (as it constitutes a different domain).
Im not sure if you can correct google's index particularly easily, other than telling it next time it tries to index to use the correct domain name.

I will leave the whois queries for the admins to resolve.
But, I will note that one resolved to a private registrar at Network Solutions and the other did not...

When I did the query, I got a private entry for the IP.
I feel better now though. I would hate to loose this resource, even for a few days.

This user has been flooding the article system for weeks with utter rubbish. Can he be blocked from submitting articles so that articles with a milligram of potential at least show up on the homepage review list.

I downloaded once one of the article attachement (just out of curiosity) and it seemed that the guy was trying to use CP to host his files. There was a lot of different things in the zip file: pdf files, word files, misc files, ...

Yeah, I once opened one of the article attachement (just out of curiosity) and the file was huge with a lot of different files in there: PDFs, word documents, misc files, different folders, ...

This thread was started a week back and its still continue. and I would request chris to take a action on it, because the member "Blue_Boy" always saying against the country. Have a look . What is that ?

Hi Abhijit,
I don't have a clue of what he actually said (the message is removed now by public moderation, which is a good thing). Instead, you could have hit the "Report Message" button and moved on, and his offensive post would have been tossed off the boards. But instead, people kept replying and this kept the worthless argument going on for a week. Can you spot whose mistake is this?
I have, from my experience, learned that ignoring such people (and reporting abusive if required) is the best way to go about it. Eventually, they will get lost along with their posts.
Please let go of it. I am sure you have much better things to do.
PS: As a last resort, I mean last resort, you can send an email to Chris and I'm sure he will settle things if it's worth his intervention.

Yes, every once in a while you see threads like this. As soon as you recognize what's going on, you should stop replying. Click on the Remove Message button if you want. Or if it's really bad, send a private email to Chris. As you have seen, replying to this person is what he wants, so just ignore him. Everyone sees what he's after.

When replaying to a message, when you click the link or link[^] buttons without text selected you get an message stating to select text but the buttons below the message are all turned into real buttons.
If you want I have a screenshot saved but its constant so...
