When posting message to forums there is one option called ignore HTML, good for code snippets. This will show all HTML in the message. So how can i quote some text when i am posting some HTML code sample ? So i suggest when ignore HTML is checked then don't remove the blockquote and other formatting tags

What's the use of that?
I suppose that only one person can use this though,
Otherwise how would you know whether they were the same person or a totally different person?
Why would you not want a username Confused | :confused:

, you can come up with reaally coooool usernames, or interesting usernames like mine A*****

Yes, this is by design. If someone signs up to download code and can't find a username that's not taken we'd rather let them just get on with it and download zip files rather than forcing them to try and find that special unique name.

Allowing people to post articles and messagess without a name is the real bug.

Couldn't you assign the email address as the username then? If they want to change it later, they can - but this'd avoid situations where people do not have a username at all.

Well no - you can't do that. People would be mad if you exposed their email addresses.

How about asigning a name in the form of "UserXXX". I'm sure it wouldn't cause too much server overhead while keeping track of which names have been handed out. Or even, in the case of forum posts, rather than displaying an empty name display any old gibberish like "Unknown User".

... as much fun as it is trying to deduce the actual behavior of such code, it's also just a tad frustrating. Perhaps, if it's not feasible to do context-sensitive replacements, you could find a way of escaping them where the meaning is still obvious? Maybe something like:

onload="" -> onload=""
or
onkeyup="" -> onkeyup = ""
etc... ?

It should only be stripping out the event name when the name is within >< tags. I'm guessing this is a problem in "Ignore HTML" mode... I'll look and fix.

I know this is pretty minor but if you are in the lounge or coming in from the front page you cant get to the Hall of Shame without being in a forum that lists all the forums above.

Same for the Graphics forum. Getting new forums totally integrated into the site always seems to take a while. It is obviously not an automated process so Chris just gets to it whenever he has time, usually after someone complains. D'Oh! | :doh:
