Downvoting is downvoting. Voting to remove is voting to remove.
Just because something has been downvoted to worm level doesn't mean members consider it abusive or needing to be removed.

FTFY.
I clicked "vote to remove" on your message and it immediately changed to "1.00/5 (1 vote)"; and it gave two entries in my rep history.
I then revoted 3, which destroyed half of the proof (and did not generate a rep history entry).

True, but what I getting at was the actual voting to remove system is independent of the rating system. We just do a small "while you're slamming this message we'll give it a 1-vote for you".

Just thought I'd mention something that seems kind of strange. The original post in this thread had a rating of 3.x yesterday (IIRC) and now it has a rating of 4.x, though the number of votes (3) has not changed. I don't see any extra events in my reputation history to indicate somebody changed their vote. I still see -4, -2, and 24 as the points that went toward voting that post.

Unless the vote has changed from an up to a downvote, a member changing their vote won't affect your rep.

Right, but I wasn't curious about rep. I was curious why this post changed from a rating of 3.x (can't remember exactly) yesterday to 4.09 today without any reputation events to indicate something changed. Seems like it might be a bug (or maybe the formula to determine ratings changed).
|
|
|
|
|
Also, my memory might be foggy and the post may not have been 3.x yesterday, so feel free to ignore my report if you think that is likely.

Could you change the site's CSS to include ul.Download (with upper case D) in the following? A lot of authors seem to use it, and the icon fails to appear.
ul.download LI, LI.download {
list-style-image: url("/images/download.gif");
padding-left: 0.5em;
}

Consider it done.

According to my rep history I just got 2 org points for downloading the/a zip file belonging to Multimedia PeakMeter Control[^]. I did not download it, I had never seen the article before.

Interesting. Turns out a download file was associated with the wrong article. The correct article is Using ListView control under Win32 API[^].

Yes, that one I did have a quick look at. Not sure I downloaded any of it though.
An anomaly in the newest caching stuff perhaps?

Hmm, and yet it's sending me to the 404 on IE9. Oh goody.

I only get a 404 when I click the link you posted (which is to the 404 page). And I am on IE9 as well. I'm guessing one of the servers (the one that is serving you) is going bonkers.
