Do you have a plan Chris ?
I see something in between full blown articles and discussion board answers, as a valuable resource.
( articles and answers are also great !)
Some sites have gone in for rated answers .
I guess , I'm thinking more along the lines of a
---> edited ---> keyword indexed ----> re-edited ----> Published.
Thus a Q and A that has been processed out of Discussion Board Post's.
I'm just musing here.
My reason for wanting this imaginary resource is purely alturistic, eg I'd love to be able to use it when I need to learn C sharp.

I just noticed that if someone emails me in response to a post, and they aren't logged in, the return address is webmaster@codeproject.com.
That's definitely anonymous, but twice recently someone has asked me questions via email, but since the mail was sent anonymously, I have no way to respond.
A warning is needed so folks don't mistakenly send emails anonymously.

Hey Mike,
Can you hassle me about this over the weekend? I've updated the email-out system a fair bit this week but it does need some more work. I (hopefully) get my new toy tomorrow so it will be long hours in front of setup screens for the next day or so.
cheers,

It might be my setup, but the pretty little navi buttons only seem to work on the home page, not on any other pages...

Are you using Netscape? If so, then you have a first hand demonstration of why Netscape 6 was so anticipated
I've been able to reproduce the problem but for the life of me can't explain why it doesn't work on other pages. Frankly Netscape 4.X is so painful to workaround and so full of strange bugs that I've stopped bothering with things like that.

Don't you just hate it when you have to support CRAP (Could Really Ascend you to going Postal).

It would be nice if we could set the "New since" time. I often access CodeProject from multiple computers, and it would be nice to be able to reset the time so I'm not looking at posts i've already read on a different machine.
Also, it would be better to track "new since" by user when logged in rather than IP.

Could you modify the forum/comments scripts so you can set a default password in your account settings? Like you've done with the username and password.
It is only a small thing, but it would save some time (as I always use the same password for ease of remembering).
You could maybe include an option to turn it off (the default one) and use a random one for people who don't care/worried about security.

The current search is an "or", instead of the expected "and" (which everyone else and their brothers default to). A "power search" with some expression (regex? altavista +/-?) would be worthwhile, too.

I'd like to see a forum for web designers. It could include, ASP/DHTML, JavaScript, HTML etc. How about it Chris?

Hi Chris!
I was using your site today and thought that it would be great if in the 'user profile' box on the homepage if you could have a 'My Articles' link which would automatically search for all articles by a particular person.
cheers,
Andrew.

I just typed in a post that included references to the SHITEMID struct, and the first half of the word got bleeped by the censor!

he he! I've been thinking about the censor script and knew that I had to tweak it a little but couldn't for the life of me think of any keywords that had naugty bits. Guess you win the prize

How about an desired info page where people can submit what they would like to see articles on as well as having people concur with it. Then when an article gets written about that subject it can be removed. Then someone else can resubmit generally the topic again if they think someone else needs to write more on it.

What you are suggesting is most likely illegal. Write the author and see if you can talk them into a free copy.

I came to the site tonight looking for the interviews with Matt Pietrek and Jeff Prosise and could not find a link to the interviews section. I think they're just missing from the left nav bar. I finally guessed at the URL and found the main interview page at http://www.codeproject.com/interview/
I just wanted to let you know. This site is excellent, keep up the great work.
