One could use a pen name; most of CPians have been doing so.

Good point. It's too late for me now, though (not that I'm particularly offensive or opinionated). The idea of my posts being viewed by HR people really shook me up. It's probably not a big deal unless you say lots of offensive things. I hope.

The world seems to think that I'm a professional basketball player. Hmm, that's odd, I'm actually a consultant. I wonder what gave them that idea...

Naw, just find someone else with your name and claim up and down it was them...

Unless, of course, they find this thread.

You could use an anonymous ID to make political/religious postings, and use your real name to make technical posts. It's messy - but eventually, it's best to be careful about what you post on the web under your real name.

Agree with Chris. If you don't want people to know, don't post it. (Or make sure HR bozos can't track it to you )

It looks like one of the banner ads crept into the left side. I grabbed a screen cap of it, but I have nowhere to upload it really. Anyways, the offending ad was for Prof-UIS.com. The banner pushes the left side way out.

Chris -
I would like to suggest that you ditch the "white on black" color scheme of the Sections, Community, The Code Project headers, and use either the green and/or the same color you've used at the top of the page where the member name and settings links appear ...
The black and white just looks out of place ... IMHO ...
Beyond that, excellent work on the new front-end.

I print selected articles for later review. Until now I have never experienced truncation of printed material. Under this new format I find some articles being truncated on the right of each paragraph. Please correct this problem or make suggestions for properly printing of these great articles. Specific example: http://www.codeproject.com/useritems/ModelViewPresenter.asp?print=true
|
|
|
|
|
That particular article hasn't been edited and has images wider than the 640 pixel limit we ask. As soon as an editor gets a chance to edit it, it will be fixed.

Chris,
I have run into this problem too. (see http://www.codeproject.com/dotnet/BackSideOfExceptions.asp?print=true). This article doesn't seem to have any overly wide images. It looks like the rating bar at the top right and the page header are cut off too. Other than this printing problem, I think the new remake looks great. Keep up the good work. Thanks.

Won't it be better, if we have an option to search in Forums, for Example I want to get all discussions which happened about Datagrid.

The Message View finally works in Opera with the new look, which is a major plus when reading comments. Well done!
On the downside, the menus don't seem to render correctly. For example, the green top menu shows the "Help" entry twice. And on the left side menu, many entries are invisible.

Please forgive my question, but where are the check boxes for voting the favourite MFC / C++ articles from June?

I have also noticed that some links in CP posts that link to other CP posts take you absolutely nowhere. It just refreshes the screen you are looking at.
p.s. I don't like having to horizontal scroll when viewing CP with the favorites bar enabled... Will have to browse without favorites bar up...

I noticed that when you put your mouse over "Message Boards" in the c# forum it doesn't drop down and give you the forum options like it does in other forums.
btw, are there other forums (other than java) that have been shunned and exist in a void where no one knows about them?
p.s. Is there really a meaning to CListCtrl?
