I have made the assumption that the chances that a CODE block will have code that the user doesn't want highlighted is less than the chance that it contains code they do want it highlighted and so ended up with the decision that if you don't want a CODE block highlighted then the <code lang="text"> option, while inconvenient for you, is more convenient for the majority of users.

I just tried it with a Regex; bleah, it's just black, I like the red of a code block.

Love the yellow sticky, your determination to get these idiots to read the rules is admirable - have you considered using blinking fuchsia. JSOP may venture out of the WPF and Lounge for that.

Are authors able to vote for there own articles or is someone messing about?
Some awful unpublished articles have one 5 vote.

|
|

Yeah, anyone can vote for their own article - I would one vote all mine but I can't do it anonymously so I'd know it was me

Further to VectorX's post, please take a look at this[^] thread from the lounge. It seems that someone has accidentally approved one of the offending, I hesitate to call them articles, for publication.

Seems like there are major issues with these new articles needing approval. Plus the author profiles are wacked too. It says they have been members since 9 years 1 month.

It's the spammer blindly adding co-authors with low id-numbers. If you look at the authors, the 2nd id is very recently created.

As the Backroom does not have voting privileges, should a thread as moved to the Backroom, irrespective where from, that have any postings as marked "Message Automatically Removed" be revoked and the original message returned. Without voting any post marked "Message Automatically Removed" looks strange and out-of-place.

Almost by definition do posts in the Backroom look strange and out of place.

"Articles Submitted" on a who is who page is no longer a link on web13 (it hovers to underline, but it remains black and the cursor is an ibeam, not a finger). web15 is fine. both repeatedly.

web13 is doing well again: Articles Submitted now behaves like a link.

I noticed. The ghostwriters have vanished again.
I'll keep looking for anomalies though.

How about this:
the article submission wizard could offer a way to order a table of content, with its own <h2>Content</h2> title, and listing all the <h2> headers in a nice little one- or two-column table with links. Automatically.
All the user has to do is insert some magic thing (say <!-- CONTENT --!>) and he would get the table added right there when looking at it in WYSIWYG editing, preview, and onwards, but never in EDIT HTML.
BTW: if removal is too hard, then we'd better have an end marker too, so it can still be automated easily.

Hi Henry,
glad to come up with something likable. You should vote it up then.

You are right, I should!
Problem is, I never do what I should.
Maybe later, if I feel like it.

When you right click the Lounge / Soapbox button and select "Open in a new tab" nothing happens. Works fine for "The Lounge" under the Forums list, though.
