As long as you don't get awarded the fool status.
Don't get to emotionally attached to this site and how "it should be" because "should be" is not going to happen anytime soon. This site is an awesome site but take it for what it is.
There are a thousand and one fly by night assholes here looking for free handouts but I think that as I said before, someone was just having some fun. Could have been a senior member here for all we know.
My 2 cents worth of nothing.

A poster posts a question. You reply with a fairly insulting message. He gets snotty back at you. You now want a system in place to ignore him.
Can I suggest that if you had refrained from posting the reply that you did, and possibly downvoting if you felt the need, then you would have achieved two goals: No aggrevating discussion and you would have warned others away from the question. Hopefully others would follow suit and vote up / vote down questions, allowing you to then use the "noise level" system we already have in place to filter out the noise.

I am quite happy with the way CP already works at the minute. That's why I come here instead of other forum sites. I would never expect any suggestions I make in a so called suggestion forum to be taken into consideration by a standard user such as myself anyway.
Some people get nice replies and some people need to learn the hard way. It depends on how they post their question and what kind of mood I am feeling in. As you would have seen from his other replies, he was hardly making it easy to offer any help.
Chris Maunder wrote: No aggrevating discussion
I think heated debate can be beneficial in learning, sometimes you have to make your point strongly as for others to take it seriously
Chris Maunder wrote: would have warned others away from the question
Considering you don't see the rating until you expand the question, I think it is too late to be warned away. After all its only the subject that really draws attention, and if you see a question voted as one are you not more likely to read it to see why others thought it to be so bad?
And just for the record, my response is not meant to be taken as seriously as yours so I hope you don't feel in any way insulted of offended that I didn't just role over and accept my spanking.

Hi,
I have just added two members as bookmarks (one of which is myself) and I cannot seem to be able to delete either of them.
Process...
- I click 'delete'
- Confirm the popup
- Page refreshes
- Bookmark still there!
Thanks

Have you tried tippex?
Seriously though, go to 'My Bookmarks' and on the right hand side is the delete option.

if it's a CRT monitor, try acetone; if not, you're screwed.

My apologies for misunderstanding the question.
In that case speak to the Hamsters.
As for the monitor, use gin.
It won't get the tippex off, but you will find that after a couple of glasses you won't care so much.

Earlier this evening I amended my sig.
My setting for Email Format was changed from Text to HTML. I did not change it,'onest guv.
I have since tried three or more times to set it back to Text, but after each save it has reverted to HTML.

Perhaps the hamsters prefer html. It tastes better than plain.

You could well be right. I think they have eaten all the HTML, well, all except for two that they put back in the box with teeth marks in.
Without my doing anything, it has gone back to Text, all by its little self.

I get this message when trying to respond with a thank you for comments on one of my articles. Although I'm giving the same reply it is to different messages and I shouldn't have come up with ever more creative wording to say thank you to someone.
