What you consider dated, and what the dev stuck using Visual Studio 2003, or VB6 considers dated are two very different things.
I strongly encourage old articles to stay. We're not all bleeding edge, and even if an article is old, the techniques are often timeless.

Well said.

I have stuff on here that's 10 years old. I wouldn't worry about your stuff being dated.

Hey Martin, I went through your article list to see if I could pick out what you would consider dated.
I work in a company that has legacy code going from old vb6 COMs to dotNet4 encompassing every version of studio along the way. Your articles are far from outdated as resources on the older technologies becomes harder and harder to find, so I would agree with Chris that the relevance for your articles is still there.
Cheers

Most of us who've been here for a while have older articles that are now obsolete. I don't think they need to be deleted. Otherwise we'd only always have articles from the last 2 years.

Any article can come in handy.
People are always working on all kinds of 'old' technology.
I would request you to let your articles stay (unless you absolutely dont want them to be around).
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.
My latest tip/trick

Just to add my tuppence worth: Sometimes the older articles are the most useful - because when you have a problem there are very few people still using the technology to ask for help...

See THIS[^] question.
You will see useless
<int><int> at the end of code there.
Now Edit the question and remove both <int><int>, It's showing fine in preview but after updating it comes back again.
Now is it a browser problem ? (Chrome 8.0)
I've seen a lot of time when there is List<String> then it adds <string><string> at the end of code automatically.
above Problem was also with answer given by me yesterday HERE[^].
Someone has deleted my answer(Somebody is misusing his/her power). Was it anything wrong with it ?

No. Not a browser problem. Infact not a problem at all.
Have a look at my reply here[^] - similar issue/doubt reported earlier. It's not a bug.

Just repost your answer again. Looks like, your comment was confusing and you wanted to delete your answer.

Ok sandeep it's just an encoding problem.
Sandeep Mewara wrote: Just repost your answer again. Looks like, your comment was confusing and you wanted to delete your answer.
My actual comment was
"I dont know why <string><string> is coming though I am deleting it. please ignore it."
But I have not encoded > and < in my comment so it misprinted like
"I dont know why is coming though I am deleting it. please ignore it."
And some body deleted it.
Ok I know that's not a problem with who deleted that's just Encoded misunderstanding between.

Hiren.

The editor is trying to resolve what it thinks is html tags. If you go in and escape the pointy brackets in the message, it'll be fine.
I already did this in the OP of the cited question.

Hi,
Under setting I noticed that Technical blogs was unchecked so I checked it. The result was that my reputation was reduced by 150 points. Three "Newsletter opt-in (undo)" appeared under my repitation history all at 20 Jan 2011 1:08 AM. I am sure that something is wrong here. I tried unchecking ot to see if that would reverse this odd process but it had no effect.
Thanks

Same for me too. I did not even change my newsletter settings. I changed my screen ID, saved and bam! -50 points for newsletter opt-in undo.

Just curious as to what timezone is being used for the users recent reputation points list in their profile.
It appears to be UTC/GMT +1hour? i.e. I'm in GMT/UTC (UK) and an event at 8.54pm is listed as 9.54pm
Seems an odd one to use.

Probably a DST related bug.

I posted a tip/trick a couple of hours ago, and it still hasn't shown up on the CP front page.
Tips is here: Partial DateTime Object Equality[^]

Well, I'm at a loss. I just posted another one which I *do* see, but I still don't see the one I cited in the OP.

"While working on a future article, I decided I need to be able to compare two DateTime objects based on any property I chose."
Your link takes me straight there. Marcus has voted you a five, and left a comment, and it appears in your profile list.
Maybe it just doesn't like you today!

I found it by going to John's profile -> Tips & Tricks submission list to find it.
I was going to check if it was visible to me at all, which it was there, but I didn't look on the front page.
I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.

I can see the article itself too. But it's still not on the homepage.
