Since a couple of days I have this issue that the input field where comments are entered and edited does not receive the focus. Before I could press the comment link and just start typing immedeately but now I have to click into the input area first.
I'm using IE 8.0.6001.19019 on Windows Vista
I experience the same at work with Windows 7 .
Did anything change here in the last couple of days?

I've had this issue for over a week now - quite annoying

Yes, but a slightly newer build. Mine's 8.0.7600.16385.

Strange! I do have updates enabled. Hmmmm ...

What OS are you on? I am on Windows 7 64 bit.

Changed my original question.
At home it's Windows Vista Ultimate and at work I user Windows 7.
Thanks for the reminder Nishant!

Thanks for the reply!
Since I haven't seen a response from Chris yet it must be low priority.

This chap has posted 5 comments[^], I have looked at three of them and deleted two. I left the third for posterity. All that I looked at are "dfasfdasfdasfd" or variations thereof.

I think it would be OK to delete the comments, but let's still observe this little bugger just a little longer. Maybe he'll spread his activities to other areas of interest.

I just noticed something else strange. That member posted a gibberish comment to this tip/trick. Also, vinoth007 posted a gibberish comment to that same tip/trick months ago.

Another one in the same state as my previous post in this regard.[^]
However, in this case it appears to be a direct copy/paste of the code from Alternate 1 and should be deleted.

This morning, suddenly I am getting email-notifications of comments to my posts in Q&A.
Thank you.
No need to answer, I'm just curious, what was the problem? Or has it just gone away?

The problems were many and varied and the final solution was to completely rework our entire mail system from the ground up, including our relay servers, our email provider, the addresses we use, our MX and SPF records, the lot.
I'm just glad it's finally working for some of our members.
