I do not not know what other users think, but I believe the editing/updating an article is very painful.
Modifying of the "rich" html is very buggy e.g. cursor disappears ..., so I better always switch to modify the plain html code.
But now as the codeproject was 'improved', also this option is much more difficult.
E.g.:
-> when I paste a simple text in the plain html editing, it sets my cursor at the beginning of the whole article - so I must then scroll down.
-> The source code that was part of the text contained various <span class=...></span> sections so it was very difficult e.g. to add there a simple line of a new comment ...
-> And when I replaced my zip file with new version of sources, the download stopped to work in the currently published version of the article - so it looks, while my update is in state 'Pending' the download does not work in the currently published version.
Am I doing something wrong that I experience this?

Which browser are you using? The cursor disappearing is something I've seen in Mozilla, and I've had reports of the cursor jumping in IE and Mozilla - but it seems hit and miss because some have the problem, others (myself included) don't. I will keep hunting.

The code you were trying to paste into your article text, or the text of the article you were (potentially?) updating?

We spent many, many, many late nights getting that sorted out but it looks like you've found a fresh, new bug. Can you please send me the URL of the article you were editing? Do you mind if I edit the article (I won't change it - I'll just be testing uploads)

Setting cursor at the beginning
Yes, I am using FireFox. And in my case it always sets the cursor at the beginning of the article.
I can try to use a different browser the next time.
<span class=...>...</span> sections
I opened the existing article and I wanted to add a new comment line to the source code in the article. First I tried to do it in the wysiwyg mode but when I entered the new line and pasted the plain text the whole code section got broken. I tried undo but it did not help. So I discarded that draft and started the editing of the article again. This time I switched to editing of plain html. When I scrolled down to the source code, it was not a simple text but every line contained couple of <span class=...>...</span> sections and so it was very complicated to add the new comment. (And in addition I could not just paste it because whenever I pasted some text it set me to the beginning of the article and I had to scroll down.)
Zip file replacing
When I was creating the new article it was not possible to replace the file by adding the new file with the same name. I had to remove the file and add the new one.
Remembering that, when I updated the article I removed the zip file and then uploaded the zip file with the same name. Now I realized, maybe this caused the problem.
So, what would be the correct way to replace the file when I update some article?
For completeness, this is the article.
I was updating the version 2 of that article. The article was meanwhile approved, so now everything works fine.
Chris, I really like the codeproject site and I appreciate all effort you put to that. Keep doing the good job!

the cream is a bit too much. it reminds me of this app we have to use at work with the color coded version control.

don't ask. it's too hard to talk about right now. I'm in the denial phase.

That's a "no", I take it?
Pity, I really liked it. Maybe I'll do an Amazon and change the background 1 unit each day for the next year and sneak it in.

Well, thank you for the fix. I do think highlighting the "reply" button is an excellent idea though.

I apologize. I have suggested Chris to modify the text of the "New Message" button, and ever since he changed colors and widgets and what have you, maybe everything but the button I referred to.

When I logged in Codeproject and viewed my recent reputation points, I found that I have got new points for events that I had done 6 months ago!!. Though I feel I shouldn't report this bug as it might make me lose these points , but a bug is a bug, or is it??

There's been a big reorganisation going on in the internals of Code Project. You'll probably find that this has helped you considerably. Nothing to worry about.

I deleted it, based on your note that it was a stupid comment. The administrators will still be able to see it and punish the offender - assuming one of them can read Farsi.
