Update
Rep points
One of the big changes we've made is to move our Rep system from our site-specific databases to our site-independent, network-wide database. In doing so we've discovered that an issue we thought we'd nailed has popped up again, namely that your displayed Reputation total may be out of sync with the sum of your individual reputation values. In some cases this is a small variance, in some cases (me, for instance, it's much larger). The individual rep values for each rep type (Author, expert etc) are correct, and it's these values that your level (Gold, Platinum etc) are are taken, and it's these levels that define your rights and permissions. So, any adjustment you see will only affect that number at the top right of your screen, and not anything in practical terms.
There were some rep events from midday Nov 16 to midday Nov 22 that were missing. These have been restored and a full sync completed.
Voting in forums
I've turned off voting in some forums to reduce load. It will be back.
We're taking advantage of US Thanksgiving and continuing with some upgrade work on the site. We'll be in read-only mode for a few minutes, then offline while we attack the database with powertools, then back online soon after that.
Hopefully.
Estimate time of completion is 2PM US Eastern Time, give or take a few.
cheers,

May be related, may not, but something just took about 200-300 rep points away, seemingly all from the last few days, no biggie mind. If I look at posts that were voted on the votes are still recorded there but the total points is ignoring them, no idea if it's also affecting article points etc. Upgrade used a database backup that was a few days old?

For me as well, not a big deal though

Same here, about 1000 rep points gone. For me it seems like partial points went down and total at the up right also went down. The reputation History is gone from November 17th upto today. I had exactly same idea that database backup for upgrade used with few days old.

The who's who pages order is funny... given a sorting layout based on the reputation.

For me the total is exactly what it should be (the sum of all partials).
But the partials are lower than they were before the update (total difference is between 300 and 500 points or similar for me). It is not a big deal, don't take it as a complain. I just wanted you to know it, just in case any other thing was not working as expected.
EDIT: I just saw the detailed list "Latest reputation events" and some days are missing. In my case it jumps from Nov.16th to Nov.22nd But I have been connecting almost every day. That could explain the missing points
Regards.

Wait a second. Are you saying you know the exact number of points you had in all the categories before they zapped you? I am trying to decide if I am impressed or amused . Just kidding.
I am also down 6-700 points total, but I have no idea if it is the adjustment Chris mentions or something else.

I don't know the exact number of all, but I noticed that I am missing some in the total (which I already checked and it is exactly the correct addition of all partials), what already indicates that the mentioned problem is not affecting me.
On the other hand I was close to change category on 2 (that's why I recall them)

Go and take a look into your "Latest reputation events"
Is it jumping from Nov.16th to Nov.22nd in your history as well? I have been in CP this week for sure but it just dissapeared for me

Yes, mine does the same (actually from the 15th to the 22nd). Nice catch . I have also been signed in since then.

So, since this missing time period also includes votes on this weeks poll, I took a look at it and it has +1300 votes, meaning the votes were not blown out. I then voted (again) which made my Participant points go up by 5 and my vote was added to the poll results.
I am on a different IP and using a different browser compared to when I voted on Monday, so i don't know if that throws an extra wrinkle in there.
Note: I was just testing, not trying to cheat.

Although you don't mention it, the Lounge does not load in my IE8 (I am still on XP SP3) it just says "-- Unable to load messages due to high load. Please try again --", but it shows the posts just fine when I load it up in Chrome.

Don't be ashamed about your computer. Win 7 with IE9 and FF12 (no chrome tested though) here and having the very same problem. Needing 10-15 refresh to see this forum, the one for c++ or the lounge.
Edit:
I could not (and still can not) see the boards as usually, so I posted the same problem as new message as well. Just realized that your message is some minutes older than mine.
Regards.

Chris,
I am down by almost 20000 points. My total was around 105k and now it's showing 87k. My author points were more than 71k which is now around 54k.
Will we be getting these lost points back? I am really sad now. I am really attached to these
rep points.

Same here, I guess I lost about 20k points

It seems the reputation points are less than last month's reputation point (October).
For an e.g, I have written only one article and the reputation points till yesterday was showing 5300+ but now it's showing 4300+ which was last month'point.
It does downgrade the level from gold to silver.
Same applies to other reputation types.
Updated: What is the spam or abusive in this message? I get the reputation points auto deducted and I expressed this clearly.I see -160 points deducted from participant reputation as this message is marked as spam/abusive. Strange! things happening!
Thanks for your time.
cheers
