Dear Team,
I have posted a Rating comment for an article[^] which has "Data Structures using C++" in it but after hitting on rating and after the comment has been posted the test C++ was not actually there in the comment instead it was changed to C. looks like it was a bug.
FYI:
I am using IE 11.

Simple example;
if (value != null)
{
return value;
}
else
{
return defaultvalue;
}
Now, when quoting we get some free SPANS;
<blockquote class="FQ"><div class="FQA">Eddy Vluggen wrote:</div> <SPAN class="code-keyword">if</SPAN> (value != <SPAN class="code-keyword">null</SPAN>)
{
<SPAN class="code-keyword">return</SPAN> value;
}
<B> <SPAN class="code-keyword">else</SPAN></B> <SPAN class="code-comment">
</SPAN> { <SPAN class="code-comment">
</SPAN> <SPAN class="code-keyword">return</SPAN> defaultvalue;
}</blockquote> That's hardly a problem when quoting a small block, but some of our readers put their entire post in pre-tags.
--edit Changed the type of this post to "question" as it's hardly a bug nor a suggestion

Hi all,
I'm attempting and failing to retrieve a long forgotten password for the account http://www.codeproject.com/Members/CatchExAs
I believe the email address codeproject@nickwilton.info links to this account but I could be wrong. I own that domain so I can test routing works for that address so it must be something else.
I've got a few articles I'd like to post and it would be great to do it all from one account. Is there someone around who can PM me some help?
Thanks in advance,
Nick

Hi Nick,
I've sent you an email so we can sort this out.
Thanks,

I just tried to edit http://www.codeproject.com/script/Answers/Post.aspx?aid=756417[^],
but got the error message: Please keep the subject between 3 and 50 words. The better the question, the better your answer. Seems strange that someone can post a question with a title that is not acceptable when the question is edited.

Setting the lang attribute of a <pre> tag to xml results in broken code. Setting it to html resolves the issue. This issue shows up after publishing an article but not in an article preview.
"As beings of finite lifespan, our contributions to the sum of human knowledge is one of the greatest endeavors we can undertake and one of the defining characteristics of humanity itself"
|
|
|
|
|
Can you please send a link to the article with which you're seeing the issue? XML and HTML actually use exactly the same colourisation rules.

Images show up in the article submission wizard but not when previewing an article.

Hi Chris. I noticed this issue, and the xml bug I mention above, when working on the following article; Master Chief, CreateJS & TypeScript[^] I was using the new Article Submission Wizard.

By default the Who's Who lists members in order of Article count. Change to Total Reputation and you'll find him.

It defaults to reputation for me. And from the screen shot hopefully you can make out that Griff was first and CG was showing as second when SA should be. And a simple refresh normally fixes it (F5, not the Refresh button on the page).
Article count shows a completely different group of people.
There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

This member: http://www.codeproject.com/script/Membership/View.aspx?mid=10720668[^] has twice posted the same plagiarised article despite being warned the first time, so he is up for the big bye-bye...slow learner. It's in progress via Spam&Abuse, so nothing needs helping along there.
But...when I checked if he was still alive, his profile page says:

It seems that you get 100 points for posting a article; see the Member Reputation System[^].
Not sure if it is possible to implement; but would be better if the points are awarded after it has been approved.

I thought you did only get the points when it was approved - at least it always seemed that way with my ones. You certainly shouldn't get points automatically on submission - that way lies a quick exploit to Platinum Author and spam self approval!

I checked my rep points, and you right the 100 is only after first approval - not on submission...
I'm not questioning your powers of observation; I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is. (V)
