What happens is one person posts it in Spam and Abuse and then everyone else comes along and trusts that the poster has done due diligence and so they mark it as abusive without even researching it. Maybe a little too much trust in that forum.

Absolutely right and I have to think about this for myself again, I mean to report something for which I can't read the "abuse text". I think I trusted too much in the past.
Not in this case, but maybe in a lot of other cases....

Who is saying that f***** is right and c****** is an abusive word..?
First he should be investigate if he don't know meaning of that word. In India its very common word people of India used it their friend circle,
How can he mark a comment to abusive that he is not clear that its abusive or not?
A person maintaining his account more that 6 years and 1 day somebody came and marked his account as abusive and many of them just go with flow and blocked his account.
For his information the word so called abusive meaning is "An Idiot" in India.

Number years doesn't matter at all here in this context. When was asked to remove the abusive post, why he/you did not remove it?

I think this thread got way too side tracked, so the site admins may not even be following the thread. You may want to email Chris or Sean directly.

Is that all it was? From the message in the Spam forum, I assumed it was something much worse.
In that case, I'm happy for my report on the user to be removed.

Yeah, he did use it in noun form though and addressed the person he was replying to. Still, that's the sort of thing where I'd expect folks to down-vote or ignore and move on.

No. I would still say, translation is irrelevant here.

Then please search for all Messages containing "f***", "f******" and similar and Report them. Sick from my Point of view! I do not Support using this words, but writing it in English it is automatically "masked" and usually nobody to bother about it.

I think you need to re-read my message, particularly the second line.

No one is over sensitive here. This is not parliament and we are not here to rule the world. You should be aware that Hindi and English are totally different languages. It must not be translated in such cases. People who have english as there native language uses the word "fu***" in discussion, agree but the translated word "Ch****" is not used anywhere in India in "General" conversations. You are in USA. Ask your relatives living in India since when ch**** became a normal word. Its really really abusive as per as Hindi is concerned.
Don't defend people who insults someone. It is abusive and it will be.

I am living in India and I know the meaning of c***** word, its common word genteelly used in India its meaning is 'An Idiot' or when some thing is not important so we normally say "Kya c******giri hai", but how can you mark a person abusive without knowing that word meaning?
For you f*** is common word, and that word you don't know is abusive

|

I think same that it was not too much abusive word in India. I think, there is an option to devote/remove/mark any abusive comment if someone feel that the post should be removed, But deleting his account is not fairly enough.
He was CP member since 6 years, and just because of one special word, he lost his account.
Anyway, is there any option to re-activate his account?
